View Full Version : That idiot Akermanis
rumours going around that he could be de-registered, he could be fined, suspended, etc.
I was just wondering what other lions fans would like to see as his punishment.
Personally while i'm happy to see brissy above the bulldogs on the ladder, Aker is great to watch and i hope that a fan is the worst punishment.
How may people on this board are still bitter on the falling out?

Really dissappointed in Aka sadly. As a player, I'm a huge fan of his. I try to model the way I play (when I play lol) the way he does. Speedy and freaky.
Whatever punishment he gets, sadly I think he deserves as it is a very sensitive subject he's discussed. But I hope it ain't the end of his career if it goes that far. The Dogs need his experience, and I for one, despite history between Lions and Dogs, want him to remain there

This is just one of those things that should never have been addressed publicly without water-tight proof. That he has done so, makes me form the opinion that he is an insecure young man with several hang-ups, (brother Rory for example). I like him, but he's not to be taken seriously. I don't think they'll do much other than discredit him (it's not worth the rigamarole). Let them work it out on the field. (Eade's probably on the phone now to Lethal getting tips.)
Did you notice the little smile that came to "Lethal's face" when he was asked to comment on Aka's allegations at his Monday press conference. He said "I think you should be asking Rodney Eade those questions." Everyone got the message, Aka is no longer Lethal's problem! end of story.

Nor ours. I reckon we should take Lethals advice.
Agreed. Jason is not a Brisbane Lions player.
This discussion belongs in Main board or Bulldogs board.
Drugs in sport should never be hush hush, good on Aka for writing a column that was thought provoking and questioned whether there are AFL players that use performance enhancing drugs. It has already been highlighted by some past players and present that the drug testing is a joke. All the people on this board who want to constantly knock aka for having an opinion are idiotic. Before you start knocking him as player, just remember last year he gave us 2 of our victories on a platter. The people to blame here are the people who leaked the alleged name. They are a disgrace.

His article was read by his coach prior to print, so no idea why he is getting canned for this one.His context was in EPO in sport in Tour de France.Totally correct mind you.Drugs in our sport are a blight on our game
The AFL could change the perception by the public and sponsers regarding our game not being clean in one foul swoop, by testing every player weekly as suggested. They have had a massive influx of revenue from the media deal, just do it.What are they afraid of? Upsetting some players, having some big name players test positive.
This innuendo and off field stuff with drugs will continue, until its cleaned up.No drugs , recreational or otherwise.

Once again, I'm closing this thread. Just a powderkeg waiting to go off.
I seriously apollgise for doing so. Most people are able to debate the point rationally, but as jackess alluded to there is still a lot of bitterness and tension bubbling away. It'll only take one post for it to go awry and neither myself weevil or LL particularly like sifting through the wreckage.
As I've said before, he's not our headache any more and there is ample opportunity to talk about it on the main board.
Feel free to PM me if you feel strongly about re-opening this thread.
