Happy with those 3 coming in, would prefer Campo stayed out of the team since we're basically out of finals contention.

He will probably get dropped to make way for Gumby

Riemers makes it all 5 players from last years draft to debut this season.

When was the last time we did that?

Gumbleton, Jetta, Hislop, Davey, Houli and now Reimers. Early indications are we drafted very well indeed.

That's nice to hear, since the season is basically over for us (finals wise) i'd rather we start playing the youngsters more often and prepare for next year. Monfires should also be ommitted IMO, Riemers will take his spot/role in the team.

Campo, johns and rama to be left out

9 Aug 2007, 18:12
Could be Bendigo's greatest lineup

M Johnson
J Johnson
K Bradley
C Heffernan
Campo
Bolts
Messiah (CJ)

Anyone else I miss !! Its goinng to be a star studded lineup

Cant wait to go to Windy Hill on the weekend !!

Play RICKY DYSON !!! and let him run all day and i dont care if he makes mistakes just give him game time

Interchange should be Dyson, Hille, Watson, Pev
Rama rested, CJ & Campo to stay home

But I have a feeling that maybe one of Pev or Jobe will get dropped in favour off the messiah,
PLEASE DONT PICK CAMPO !!! LOOK TO THE FUTURE NOT THE PAST !!

i can't believe that we are half a game out of the eight and people like you are ruling us out of contention, show some support and optimism.

And also, monfries is a youngster so what you are saying is that you want to start regularly playing youngsters but take out monfries in the process.

What does Houli have to do to get another game in the seniors?

He's been consistently good at VFL and yet others are getting a game before him.

Maybe we could have debuted Remiers against West Coast when our season is well and truely gone.

Apart from that I'm pretty happy as long as Johns is out of the side.

Interesting to see MJ and JJ. When was the last time we didn't have a Johnson in the team?

d-mac3276
9 Aug 2007, 19:47
Tell ya what i was critical of MJ and that he should of been dropped awhile ago but in his defence now apart from the shocker he had on sunday the guy did kick 3 goals against the crows with a couple in the last quarter to help us win. Now i'm no rocket scientist but doesn't that say to u that he maybe should of played in the forward line at the weekend.

Bit strange to me dropping a guy a week after bagging 3 goals but keeping him in the side when he was doing bugger all earlier in the year. Spose thats why the coach has been given the arse

Jobe and Pev are in career best form. They will be certain starters for Sunday's game. The only reason they would miss the game would be through injury.

bomberstomake8
9 Aug 2007, 21:16
MJ shouldnt be dropped. he should be chucked in the forward pocket and left there for the rest of his career which could be a long one if he played there. we saw what he can do against adelaide. he is an awesome contested mark, would bag at least 3 a game playing forward...
somethings sheedy does puzzle me. like last week why wasnt lucas put one out in the goalsquare with campbell brown, lucas was carrying and injury (therefore the less running the better) and had a massive height advantage that wasnt exploited. MJ playing in the backline on a quicker player week in week out is always not going to work.. forward pocket, not in bendigo..

im happy with reimers and gumby coming in... johns will make way for gumby and i think rama may be rested (in other words omitted), we will see though

It wouldn't surprise me because in Sheedy's press conference, he said there's a chance Lucas will be rested and Gumbleton will take his place at CHF.
However that was before training yesterday, so Sheeds might decide to keep Lucas in after doing well at training.

Really unfair for the selection panel to make MJ the scapegoat for the shocking performance against hawthorn. Sure he made skill errors but there were plenty of people who were more responsible for that beating than him, at least he was getting his hands on the ball and he was the matchwinner against adelaide 2 weeks ago. They obviously have a very short memory.

Minglis
10 Aug 2007, 13:26
Just more really, really wierd selection decisions there.

MJ out, Campo in - obviously not a "focus on the future" selection... but if not, what? Campo > MJ? Maybe 3 years ago...

SOT4

Possibly because Campo has awesome skills which we severely lack. Besides he won't play IMO

His disposal has been very ordinary this year.

He's good games have come only at the smaller Telstra Dome - not at big grounds similar to Subi.

Sadly the game has passed him by.

Bit confused because he is placed on the emergency list.

I can see Reimers having a cracking debut in front of his home crowd, will be playing in front of a lot of his mates.

Also excepting Monfries to crank it up for his 50th game.
Congratulations on making the 50th. Onya Gus!! :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Also with a bad percentage which means we will have to be an extra game clear in order to make the 8, and we have 2 very hard games over at subi, with the other 2 winnable but not locked in. If we win 3 it may get us into the finals, but i think we would have to win 4 to make sure we get there, which is a very tough ask.

Since when has 14 wins got you only into the Top 8? You win 14, its Top 4 mate. All other clubs we're competing for can only win another 2 at the very most, have a look at the draw. We've got a good run bar Eagles at Subi.

Only need to win 3, Freo Carlton Richmond.

Would rather win three or lose all of them

Either we make finals with 13 wins or drop to 13th with 9 wins and trade our pick #4 and Bradely and/or johns for #2 pick which will be Trent Cotchin from PEGS, a Chirs Judd of the future:thumbsu:

Sydney in 7th is on 40 with a much higher % so we need to win 2 more than they do to finish higher than them. From 8th to 11th the teams either have a higher percentage or are a draw ahead of us, so if those teams win 3, we will have to win 4. 8th is our only opening IMO (because we would have to our last 4 games if it we were to finish any higher). And if just one of those teams from 8th to 11th win 3 games, we will have to win 4 games to get into the 8. So to me (as i have mentioned before), we will have to win our last 4 game to have a really good chance of getting inot hte finals and 3 wins to have a chance.

FWIW, 13 games will get you into the 8 and not top 4, 14 wins plus a good a very good % will probably get you top 4. Things are very tight this year, as you would probably already know.
