Why is there a whole forum thread on Umpires??? They do nothing wrong, yet everyone looks for an excuse to say why their team lost!
Dont like interpretation of rules?? dont break them in the first place....
hands in the back= get in front of the opponent!
The people you see at the games stand up and abuse the umpires are absoulte wankers! They will not change their mind because some drunk, fat bloke reckons he knows the rules. As for the players...well all i have to say is that if there is another sport that allows players to carry on like that to officials, then let me know. They are the most undisciplined professional athletes in the world, hence why they get paid next to nothing(in terms of world sport).
Sorry guys, it just really annoys me- if they make a decision, get on with the game, dont sook around...again they will not change their mind.

I respect the umpires given that I'm one myself and know how hard it is, but that comment is just stupid. Everyone makes mistakes.

Yeah im an umpire myself(u all would have guessed that!), and i know we make mistakes, but so do players, and they dont get bashed around in the media for it, and accused of fixing the game

Mate, everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect...that is my only correction to your post!
Sadly, it has just become a part of the culture of the game, abuse the umpire, because he has absolutely no idea what the rules are or how they should be interpreted! Yeh sure guys, how the hell has he made it to the top level in the country then??
I hate behind the fence umpires aswell, if you think you can do a better job, get out there and become an umpire!! But wait, they dont actually have the balls to take the abuse...they can dish it out, but when its directed at them, they cant take it.
There is nothing you can do about it DH, just have to accept that there are idiots out there who think they can umpire the game from 30 rows back in the stands (spectators) or from the other end of the ground (players). Let them have their whinging space and just sit back and laugh at their stupid comments!!

I think the umpiring board was to get all the "we was robbed" threads off the main board, which pop up like chicken pox every time someone's team goes down by a point.
