Was up until 2.30am this morning watching Rage. It was a special on the late Layne Staley with songs from Alice in Chains and Mad Season. After that they showed Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Mother Love Bone, Mudhoney, and other grunge clips. It was most certainly a great nights viewing, even if I'm tired as hell now.
So did you watch it, or do you watch Rage, and what are your favorite Rage specials?

It seems an unwritten (or maybe it IS written?) law that artists are not allowed to program Rage unless they play some DEVO or Nick Cave. :rolleyes:
My favourites of past years are when Vince Neil of Motley Crue programmed Rage in 1993/94 and when James and Jason from Metallica programmed it in 1996.
There is virtually NO metal on it these days, so I don't bother anymore.

I loved the metal special they had on some time last year, that would have to be the best one I've seen.
listened to the Layne tribute on the way home from Rich Vs Swans ( big night !!) being a Mad Season fan and they played PAW - 'Jessie" !!!!! yeah !!! great memories of the Evelyn Hotel in 95 when they blew up the sound system.....

Must admit I've only heard a few Mad Season songs, but they were awesome! Love Jessie by PAW. Mother Love Bone was one of my highlights - Anthony Wood died too damn young for the talent he possessed.

When L7 programmed in May '95, I taped it and got into virtually every band they had chosen. Probably my most memorable.
Still tune in when I'm unable to leave the couch for some reason late on a Friday or Saturday night...

I always check out the playlists on the ABC site just in case they have a good night like Sat night to set the video for.....

It's updated each Friday afternoon......:cool:

Jason and James seemed very stoned to me that night!! Everytime they came back after a group of songs they seemed higher!!:p
Did anyone get a copy of the show on Saturday?
