White faces a week’s suspension for charging Carlton's Brendan Fevola. Due to his five-year good record, he doesn't risk any extra suspension should he take it to the tribunal and be found guilty.
<snip>
The match-day report of Port Adelaide's Daniel Motlop for striking Carlton's Bret Thornton. Motlop jumped to intercept the ball. While coming down, he made contact with an open hand to the side of Thornton's face. The action was not a striking motion.
Also of note - Cornes tackle on Blackwell, and Fevolas high hit on Cornes (which apparently didnt happen) were both investigated:
Port Adelaide's Chad Cornes picking up Carlton's Luke Blackwell and dumping him on his side as part of a tackle. The technique of the tackle was not desirable, but the action was not considered reportable, as Blackwell was kept in a horizontal position at all times and not dumped on his shoulder or head.
Contact between Carlton's Brendan Fevola and Port Adelaide's Chad Cornes from the fourth quarter of Saturday's match. Cornes gained possession of the ball just before Fevola made contact with his upper arm to the side of Cornes' face. It was the view of the panel that:
The force of the contact was not excessive;
Cornes was actively involved in the play;
Fevola did not use his elbow as part of the contact;
Fevola did not leave the ground when contact was made;
Fevola did not have a realistic alternative to contest the ball.
Therefore, the incident was not deemed reportable.
