Anyone wanting to see a brilliant metal band, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR & get your arse down to the Corner Hotel tonight to see how music SHOULD be played.
I have never seen anything as good! ****ing brilliant!!!
That's 3 out of 3 rave reviews I've heard... my turn to see them is tonight, and I might go again to the Kryal Castle thing on Friday if I can get out of working.

CYA soon then!!
And if you're going to Kryal then let me know- let me know how you're getting there. Tossing up whether to drive or catch public transport.

The 2nd show didn't even get close to the 1st.
The crowd was lame, you should've seen it at the first show.
Still enjoyable, but the first buried it.
Was keeping an eye out for you Sav, but didn't see you there last night.
Kryal Castle is 50-50 at the moment, definitely worth forming a posse to go if it's possible.
Are you going to the instore signing at Metal Mayhem at 5.30pm tomorrow? I've got two CDs and a tour poster to get signed, plus probably buying the Theater of Salvation CD at the store. Should I get the guitar signed too? :o
Set list from last night, to the best of my recollection :
1. Fallen Angels
2. Tears of a Mandrake
3. Babylon
4. Land of the Miracle
5. Painting on the Wall
6. Fairtytale
7. Headless Game
8. The Pharoah
9. Vain Glory Opera
10. Drum Solo
11. Save Us Now
12. How Many Miles
ENCORE
13. Avantasia
No Nailed To The Wheel, geez I wasn't happy about that and neither was the bloke I was next to, who'd been baying for it all night.
For the last half of the show my eyes were transfixed on Felix's drumming....I don't know how metal drummers do it, just so much energy and 100 minutes of flailing arms and legs! Unbelievable!
Support bands wre pretty good, on the whole. Dungeon were sensational, Supremacy had a few lookers in the mix but sounded pretty ordinary (guitarist is talented though), and Vanishing Point made a lot of cool noise but I was getting bored with every song sounding the same after about 20 minutes... didn't get there in time to see Anarion.

How long would it take to get to Ballarat by train from say Flinders Street?

Yes. I'll be ****ing off from work early to be there. I am taking some CD's- will also be buying Theatre of Salvation tomorrow & also will take a snare drum skin to get signed as well as my camera. Sure take your guitar!

Felix is a freak, as a drummer I was in awe!

Chris from Vanishing Point is cool. That keyboard player however is an arrogant ****- to ignore me and my mate saying "good show, well played" etc- just walk straight past us like you're too good! **** you! The guys from Edguy are 10X more down to earth than you, and they are somebodys! Not nobodys! Take some tips from your bandmate in Chris for how to treat fans & friends!
See ya tomorrow dude!

Yeah saw Chris shaking a thousand and one hands last night, seemed really pleased to be there, both on stage and out in the crowd.
Not sure how long it takes to get from Flinders Street to Ballarat, but Kryal Castle is a fair way out if there are no connecting buses that fit into the schedule... maybe work something out for one of us to drive if we both go?
LOL the guitar would be a handful, with all the other stuff as well, might have to give the old bitch a clean tonight too. :o

Darks- where were ya dude?
I didn't see you anywhere. Did ya go?
No :( Instead of leaving work early, I actually ended up doing overtime!
Still, the more hours I do during the week, the nmore chance I am of taking a day off on Friday to accomodate the Kryal Castle show.
I'll hopefully be popping into Metal Mayhem tomorrow arvo to get some details on the Friday show. Unless you found anything out today?

I didn't find out a great deal- other than there is room for only 60 people who want the meal, but there should be stacks of room when the band starts.
I'm undecided about going- it's a huge drive & I've developed a ****ing cold over the last few days. See how I go I think.
