To anyone that was at training,

I just heard (no pun intended) that James Hird re-aggrivated his injury at training and looks set to miss this week potentially ending his career.

Was anyone at training that could give more infor?

Cheers

sounds like he's twinged the calf again. He's denying it, and says that while he'll miss this week, he'll be right for the Richmond game

he better be, it would suck if he has already played his last game

Just heard it driving home and I did well not to crash.

Please be only a 1 week injury. Please.

Hird to face fitness test tomorrow
Wednesday, 15 August 2007
Essendon champion James Hird will be assessed tomorrow (Thursday) to see if he is fit to play this weekend against Carlton at the MCG.

High Performance Manager John Quinn said Hird tightened up in the calf during training at Windy Hill this afternoon.

"Hird wore different strapping today and was taken from the training track after tightening up," Quinn said.

"We are taking every precaution with him after five weeks on the sidelines.

"We will do some further testing and assess tomorrow to see if he will play this weekend."

It has been confirmed by others but i can say the reports of him training for about 10 minutes and then going off , coming back on and heading back to the rooms are true:thumbsd:
Hirdy didnt sound that confident of playing this week when asked by the media when leaving training. I can say he didnt look to full on strain his calf again as he wasnt limping when he went off. Like Longy has said , tightness is the current diagnosis.

yes godons81 was at training to day hirdy went out with the main group did the warm up come in got the calf rubbed then came back out did about ten minutes of training talked with i think it was the team doctor and fitness guy and went inside the rooms. He looked very disappointed the only other time i have seen him like that is when he done his foot in 1999.:(
