How we can relinquish a 32 point lead at half time is beyond me. I'm so tired of losing. :(
Great game Fisher. :thumbsu:

I care and I still dont think you can be happy about giving up a 6 goal lead. They never should have got back in the game. I know the wins are coming, but i really wanted one today, especially against the Bombers.

were you one of the Pagan bashers that screamed for his head after every honourable loss? Now the coach has changed and it doesn't matter if we lose all off a sudden, it's who cares we are trying our best. do i detect some hypocisy here? Are skills were once again deplorable today, no way we should have lost this game after the half time lead. so all those that thought that Ratten is so much better than Pagan, what do you have to say now?
Condolensces guys, another great game, sorry but it was our turn. Things will get better, you have a good young players. Good luck for 2008.
it wasn't a 6 goal lead, it was 23 points
****en hell this is getting annoying. I didnt get to watch the game but followed it from updates and it just seems that we disapeared after half time.

so you go trolling to stamp out the coach who has only just taken over from a team that has been in the dumps for years?

what do yo mean trolling? i'm trying to make a point. yes i still think it was very unfair what happened to Pagan. I have given Ratten 4 weeks before sayign anything. in fairness he does deserves more time but every one is going ga ga over him and from where i sit we haven't improved at all. I am really frustrated about today's loss. Keep in mind that teams normally fire up for a while after a coachign change. i really thought he would have given us a win by now. Today was his big chance. I'm not saying that he is a bad coach. but what has he done to justify all the hype which is circulating on this board?

IMO you were trolling. It gets very tiring listening your continual love affair with Pagan. Not only is it tiring, it sounds like a deliberate attempt to provoke a response from others on the board.

It called having a fair dinkum crack, playing with a much better plan and playing for the coach. Not giving up and losing by large margins as we were doing. Any dill can see that. Admit you're wrong and move on.

That is a fair point, nutcase. Melbourne have won 2 games since Riley took over as coach despite being decimated by injury & Freo have won 3 under Mark Harvey. It is very rare that a coach is sacked & the team still can't chalk up a win shortly afterwards.
Ratts will get the gig next year & I have no problem with that, but people are saying we have improved since Ratts took over, but what I have seen is a team that has got into winning positions in all 4 games & somehow managed to butcher our chance. It sort of brings back memories of our games earlier this season against Brisbane, Kangaroos & Adelaide. Of course we aren't getting smashed, but you won't when you play a high possession style of game, instead you will lose winnable games because you overuse the ball & ultimately turn the 'pill over' (eg Lappin's crappy kick to Whitnall when we were 2 kicks in front during the last quarter, which resulted in a goal to Essendon instead of the ball being taken inside Carlton's 50).
Honourable losses are no longer an option. I have seen nothing that tells me we will suddenly turn things around next season & be competitive against all teams in the AFL & I am damn certain that get Kreuzer as a priority pick will not help us win extra games next year. Hard work on skills & fitness should be the club's main priority, not early draft picks.

you are obvioulsy another one that wasn't watching the firs half the year Jim when we were having a red hot crack. We lost our way for about 5 weeks there. it's what happens with young teams. i bet you $100 that Ratten will go through similar periods with this young team if he is our coach next year.
So far in 2007 we have 4 wins. Pagan was coach for all those and Ratten none.
do you want to admit that you were wrong Jim?

and how long did pagan coach for? Ratten deserves a chance to do something with the blues its hard to come in with a handfull of games to go and turn it around when morael is low.

actually buffalo pride when a new coach comes in it normally lifts the spirits of the team and they play above themselves. Despite this though Ratten has got us a win. He has been in the box all year. Its not like he completely came in from the outide and had to run with it. anyhow i am not so much bagging Ratten as i am defending Dennis. It comes as no surprise that bringing in a new coach hasn't provided the quick fix that others were hoping for.

it was really just the last quarter. the fellas stopped running. either they couldn't or wouldn't but for sure, they didn't.

we haven't set any new records since Dennis left, we were on track to set an all time record for points against.

Simple, Pagan is not our coach. Ratten is. Did we win a bunch of matches when Pagan first started with us? No. Give the man a chance will you.

It was 29.

Bee in all fairness you haven't heard a peep out of me in the last 4 weeks. I am frustrated by today's loss. Ratten may turn out to be a very good coach but i ask the question again, what has he done to justify the hype? you no why everyone loves him so much Bee? It's because he played for Carlton, period.

In his four games at the club, we've lost by a total of about 67 points. In Pagan's last, we lost by almost 120 points. We mightn't have won, but the improvement has been substantial.

what is annoying me is the hypocrisy of most of the posters on this board. Earlier in the year when we had a string of honourable losses it wasn't acceptable for the mob. Now all off a sudden under Ratten it is acceptable? Pagan was bashed fro pillar to post even when the team did do well on the field. every move he made came under the miscroscope and was in general condemned by the mob. they were all saying we shoud be doing better with our list but now all off a sudden our list isn't good enough - makign excuses for Ratten. no one has questioned any of Ratten's moves.
there is one reason for this and one reason only. Ratten is a past player
