Have to hand it to him. He was electric - absolutely killed us in the last qtr. The goal topped it off.

We are all hoping Andrew can deliver those type of performances more consistently from now on.

He owed us that.

Absolutly. He needs to do that over two or three quarters on a regular basis.
Well done for his effort in the last quarter..

Was outstanding today, especially the last quarter. Turned a corner maybe?

Just spoke with him - he said that he felt it was one of the best games of the year for him. Reckons that he was really keen to "do it for Hirdy"....I told him tha I wish'd he'd would play above the shoulders like that more often!!

So, more then half of the people on the Bigfooty Essendon forum board wanted to trade him about 3 weeks ago and now this?

I said it then and I will say it now. Lovett had a crap season last year with him going to court and all that, then his father dieing. He had an injury at the start of the year and now hes back and slowly moving into the direction he was in his first season of playing seniors for Essendon. From now on he will just improve and get better.

Just proves that half the people on this board no jack s*hite.

The only thing i have mentioned is him not chasing and running hard enough (being lazy) which made him look like he had lost his pace or something, but he ran hard today, backed himself and looked like one of our best runners through the middle. IMO, he was our best running mid.

Consistency is the issue mate. If he can do what he did today, week in week out, I won't hear a word against him.

First time I've ever seen him actually want to influence a game with effort.

He's got that ability to run blokes down and put enormous pressure on but just doesn't do it enough.

Hopefully this is the turning point and he can give defensively as good as he gives offensively.

It's the fact that everyone knows he's capable of doing what he did today that gets us all so frustrated at him sometimes...

I was one of those people.
I want a player who can play a solid 4 quarter game week in, week out. One good game here and there wont cut it in todays football. I'd have been happy to keep him if he'd showed more of what he did yesterday, and I'll gladly swallow my words if he can back it up for the next 2 games, and go into the pre season with the aim to work on his endurance.
The level he played today should be the level he's aiming at playing each week.

No what frustrates me is when he stands on the wing for 10 minutes doing nothing or he doesnt chase his opponent and lets them get a free run at the ball. A guy with his pace has no excuses for trailing his direct opponent by 15 meters.Or he complains to team mates when they dont hit him lace out.
I dont expect him to replicate his last quarter efforts every week over 4 quarters but if he could even do 3/4 of what he did in the last yesterday over a half each week i would be more than happy.
