These two guys can do some really good things when they are on the ball. But when they stuff up, they really stuff up and it is so frustrating. I know they are young and they are still learning but they make some of the most stupid and simplest errors! i.e. Missing the target, playing on when they shouldn't, taking on when they shouldn't, etc.

Bower is extremely frustrating when it comes to his accountability and when he trys to take on an opposition player. It never works for him. He also makes some dumb decisions by kicking to one-on-one's instead of loose players and seems to slow the play down quite a bit. I know it seems i'm coming down a bit hard on him, but it does frustrate me when he does these things.

Blackers on the other hand, well we all know what this kid can do. He can be magnificent or can be really poor. Blackers seems to slow the play down a lot and his disposal can be very poor at times. Also, i noticed this especially today against Essendon, that his pressure is the worst component of his play. He seems to just jog at the ball carrier and not apply the adequate pressure needed at the time.

But is guess they are both young and will only learn to improve.

Whats your thoughts on their performance over the past couple of weeks, or for this season??

Well i think once these guys get another season or 2 on their resume and improve on their poor decision making they can be some good players

The thing with Blackers is how much can he really improve on these things. His disposal is not bad it's shocking!!!

The questions Ratten and co. need to decide is can this kid improve any more or is this how good he is going to be.

Next year will decide his fate if you ask me and should be given plenty of opportunity to show whether he can make it or not

i think blackwell could improve, he would just need to focus on his kicking

Everyone. remember carrazzo last year, couldn't kick goals from 20 metres out.

and fishers inconsistancy

two really bad kicks, came back after the pre season and they are at their best

I think if anyone we should be worried about Waites disposals

Happy with the way Bower has gone in the last month. Expected a little more from Blackers although Pagan probably didn't play him enough.

Same. Bower I'm pleased with, still makes dumb mistakes but the talent's there. Blackwell, I've got worries about. Still young has improvement left in him, but can't really see him being a part of our 22 in the long term.

Pretty much sums it up for me. Blackwell will really need to step up next year and become a player if he's to keep his spot in the team and on the list, especially with Nick Stevens coming back into the side next year.

Bower yes, Blackwell NO

bower really pisses me off in the way he tries to take on the opposition when he really shouldnt. but fwiw, i think he'll end up making a good player if he gets a couple of things sorted.

blackwell is good, but really lacks enthusiasm and gusto on game day. Youve got to want to play for the jumper... to give it your all for the CFC, and i dont think hes doing that atm.

god knows i want these two kids to be something special

Blackwell will come good next year with a good preseason under his belt. I heard all the same question marks on Carrazzo last year.

Im more confident about Bower but i havent given up on Blackwell. They are both at that stage where they are too good for VFL but aren't expierienced enough yet to dominate in the AFL.

I have been quite impressed about both especially Bower and I think that Blackers needs a few good games games in a row on the ball to get his confidence up, he has shown a bit though.

Blackers has talent. I've been happy with how he's gone in his few games this year. He'll have to continue to step up next year though.

Bower. I just don't know about him. It just seems like every time he gets the ball he screws it up or makes a mistake. He almost complicates things for himself. He's young - i know... and i'm sure he will improve, but he definitely has to work hard on his disposal, positioning around the contest and decision making.

Happy with both of them thus far. Both of them should be regulars in the team next year.
