Hello cat fans i ve just decided to post the Geelong Side that I think should be picked at the moment. (it is not the best 22 players)

I am going to make some interesting positional moves

B Sanderson Scarlett Harley

HB RookeGRAHAM Milburn

C Wojcinski Riccardi Clarke

HF Woolnough HUNT Lord

F Burns Kingsley Mensch

Ruck: King
R/R: Corey
Rov: Chapman

I/C Bartel, Ablett, Street, Foster

Emerg: McGrath Kelly S Johnson

I have given Ling a rest, he is obviously injured
Mooney needs a spell.
Sholly needs a run in the 2's

On the I/C bench I have tried to pick players that will fill the various gaps.

Benny is at CHB behind the play
Chappy is roving.

Interesting selections. Interesting you say give Ling a rest cos he's injured, but you selected Street who's probably still hampered a little by injury.

Anyway, i'll give it a go since i got nothing to do at work right now.

FB: Sanderson Scarlett Foster
HB: Sholl Harley Milburn
C: Clarke Riccardi Bartel
HF: Burns Graham Lord
FF: Mooney Kingsley Wojcinski
Ruck: King Corey Ling

Interchange: Chapman, Rooke, Ablett, Hunt

Ok, my turn :) This is for this week against Port;

Backline: Foster Scarlett Sanderson
Half Back: Harley Graham Sholl
Centre: Bartel Corey Kilpatrick (if fit this week, other wise Clarke)
Half Forward: Milburn Woolnough Burns
Full Foward Line: Lord Mooney Kingsley

Rucks: King Wojinski Riccardi

Inter: Ablett Hunt Rooke Chapman

Hmmm, I'm pretty impressed with the forward line.
Benny needs to go back and get some confidence, Dasher on the forward line would work cause he can take a great mark and will always head to the ground to get the ball.
Ling is still injured, needs a rest, no point playing him if he isn't fit.
I have a feeling I have missed someone in the team but can't figure out who

If I was coach Mark Thompson, I'd go in with a slightly different side, just to try a few things....

B: Sanderson, Scarlett, Foster
HB: Wojcinski, Graham, Rooke
C: Clarke, Milburn, Corey
HF: Burns, Harley, Lord
F: Kingsley, King, Riccardi
Foll: Street, Ling, Bartel
Interchange: Sholl, Kelly, Woolnough, Ablett Jnr.
Emergencies: Mooney, Chapman, Hunt

I have gone with Ben Graham at CHB in an attempt to get the best out of our captain, and in a surprise I would be willing to try Tom Harley as a key forward. I think we need to play the 2 ruckman with King spending time up forward. Last week I thought we looked better when King went down forward in the 2nd quarter. He is a good mark, a good accurate kick for goal, and will make the opposition find a decent match up for him, and at the least, King will bring the ball to ground for the likes of Ronnie, Lordy or Ricco to crumb some goals.

I also am of the belief that Darren Milburn needs to play in our midfield, with Wojcinski and Rooke providing the run off the half back flanks. Milburn will add some experience to a midfield that is getting beaten at centre breaks this season despite winning the hit-outs.

Go Cats!!

Oh I believed you Mattster, still do and think I always will do. Grgic looked totally lost on Saturday against the Doggies.... You lot have certainly done better out of that trade so far. Well done to Bizz too, I still loves him :) :)

Yep Kelly and Playfair were both in that deal, thats why we got the better end of the stick cause both grigc and bizz are hopeless.

Firstly Biz isn't hopeless, as proof of that you could watch some of his games so far this year, as he has been one of our best.
As for the deal, you've left out the fact we also attained Brad Miller, who has already shown enough to be selected in 2 games so far this year. And if he's ever given more than a few minutes a game he may cement himself in the side by seasons end.

actually, bizz was very inconsistent down at Geelong. We had a steady backline and played him forward in a hope that he would be our solution to a long standing problem.

Melb on the other hand has played him in defense, and this seems to be his niche. Also, a change of scenery has proven to improve some players...lets hope Grgic can do something this year to prove himself

I watched some of Biz's games when he was a cat as well, but that's the problem it's only some.

And to Brad Miller, good luck to him but i can't comment cause i haven't really seen him play.

Let's get one thing straight, we traded pick 55 for Brent Grgic.

We also traded Clint Bizzell for picks 17 and 41.

So all this crap about Bizzell for Grgic is pure fantasy.

Gee, its hard to play well when you roam half back getting easy kicks.

It would be interesting to see how many Goals Bizzell has got kicked on him this year, you can get easy kicks by not picking up your opponent as all the backmen disovered when they ran of the former no 9 in 2001.

In the end, it's a win/win situation for both clubs.

Melbourne picked up a handy player who seems to have found his form in the backline at Demonland and good luck to him.

On the otherhand, Geelong picked up two good young kids (James Kelly was one) as well as freeing up quite a bit of money in our salary cap. Lets face it, Clint's performances for Geelong were not good enough to warrant him being paid what he was!!

I'm with you Sein - I was (and remain) a fan of Biz, but what we were getting for what we were paying was just too great a difference. That's if my source was right anyway but that's another story :D
