Of the current list do you believe anyone could become a Brownlow winner?
I personally don't believe we have one. In a successful side Stanton may attract votes purely on work ethic would need to improve in kicking efficiency.
Ryder could be anything and should be history shows a player of his stature would find it hard to poll enough votes.
Smokey, Laycock (laughable maybe) with Ryder ruckman over the last decade don't poll enough to win. But I think he stands out on the field has a good ruck technique, wins clearances, good below his knees for a big man, moves very well when forward along with a good goal kicking technique.
Any thoughts...

With all the hype around last year's draft as being the best ever, then I hope Gumby can be a contender.
Like you though Mudflap, I cant see any serious candidates at the moment.
Monfries? Alot of improvement needed, but is the type of player that could. Needs to show alot more though.

Natasha Puautjimi
Tiwi Islander, Natasha Puautjimi, will be a special guest at Essendon training today.
Natasha, who moved to Melbourne from Bathurst Island in March, has just been named best under-13 player in the Yarra Valley competition where she dominated her male opponents.
Despite missing three games she polled an impressive 27 votes (the next highest was 15 votes).
Natasha will have a kick with her favourite player, Adam McPhee, be presented with a signed Essendon jumper and receive four tickets to Sunday's blockbuster against Richmond.

What year do you think she will get up to take the Brownlow?

Brent Stanton....Rob Harvey won 2 brownlows so with a bit of luck Stanton might pinch one...

Stanton has no chance.
Hislop is our best chance, going to be Daniel Kerr version 2.

Best chance would be a midfielder, so out of Stanton, Watson and Reimers

I don't think anyone on our current list is good enough to win a brownlow. Only the top players of the comp get them and only a handful of teams have these players. I'm not sure about our first year players but no-one really has a chance of even a top 3 finish.

Stants.
Slight chance down the track, Gumby.

Gumby won't win it- CHF's don't win it! Brown is a once in a generation footballer and he may not ever win it.

Brown is not a once in a generation footballer, Carey was.

Pretty sure I heard Brown has kicked something like 90 goals in his last 22 games.
Jon Brown at his best is in the top few players of the last decade. Only injuries will stop him being ranked along side the greats at the end of his career. He's a freak.

80;). To call him a once in a generation player is ridciculous, Pav is his equal anyway.

Jonothan Brown is at least 5 times better than Pav. Pav is a very good player but Brown is a freak. He has ridiculous endurance, can take a great grab on the lead or in a pack and is a dead straight kick.

80 goals in 22 games in modern footy is a brilliant effort, especially considering he played in a number of those games with an injury.
He's got Pav covered, comfortably.
With Cox, he's the best player in the competition. He's the best forward in the comp by some margin.
If he plays the next 3-4 years at the level he's played this season, he will be a once in a generation player.

Pav can do all those things too, Pav has had 71 goals in the same time with a similar number of marks/disposals. He also gets slightly worse midfield supply.

Playing full fit.
And Brisbane finished well below Freo last year.
And save for the last 5-6 weeks Brisbane have been pretty poor this year.
If I had the pick of the two, I wouldn't think twice.
Brown runs all day, he takes serious pack marks, is a brilliant kick and intimidates.
Pav doesn't have the skill of Brown, nor does he scare anyone.

The main issue with Brisbane in 2007 was never really midfield related but more to do with the changing of the guard in defence. Anyway Freo has been worse than Brisbane this year.

Or the fact the continually continued to kick to Brown when he was out numbered 3 to 1.
Watch our game against them for a great example.
Anyway Freo has been worse than Brisbane this year.
Yep, but Brown has been better than Pav regardless.
I would like to think Stanton, not sure he will be a heavy vote getter though.
I will go for Paddy Ryder.
I meant 2006 with that comment. Pavlich often gets double teamed anyway
, the lack of support is a double edged sword anyway as the better the other forwards are the less the supply goes through the main targets.

An Carey didn't go close to the Brownlow either! The point was that CHF's struggle to win the Brownlow!

Brown was well ahead in last years poll until injury struck, he was home and hosed if he`d stayed on the park.
