View Full Version : Very nice match Bombers, good luck Hird and Sheeds.
Not trolling, and couldnt find an appropriate thread but would like to say that you guys made tonight the event it was. The atmosphere was brilliant and i would not have been upset if the tigers lost at all.
Congratulations to you guys for sharing the careers of one of the best footballers to play, and by far the best coach to ever coach.
Im glad it was the Tigers playing against the Bombers for such an occasion, I think it was the best way for them to go out.
Good luck with round 22, and wish you luck for next year.

They're doing it in true Fitzroy style, losing to Richmond in the 2nd last round and traveling over to Perth for the final game. Should have been a win yesterday for the two of them, never the less, two greats of the game :thumbsu:

Essendon didnt win it for them, but it was an exciting game, like usual when its Richmond vs Essendon.
I hope Hird gets a coaching job somewhere around essendon, he is a champ for you guys and would be a massive boost if he could stick around the club somewhere!

Dont think he will get a coaching gig. He has his own buisness to look after. If anything, he will probably be in the media. Maybe take on a role similar to what Voss has.

Hirdy has always said he'll have a year away from footy when he retires. Think he's said he'll just be getting away and travelling with family. After that i'd love to see him in an assisting role and then one day take over as coach.. he certainly doesnt need to do it for money though with his business and restaurant keeping him busy.
Would have preferred if he did his coaching apprenticeship under Sheedy with a plan to hand over after a couple of years but who knows, maybe he'd be a crap coach (yes, that was very hard to say as i struggle in thinking of hirdy as anything less than perfect).

Being a carlton supporter you would know all too well about the Fitzroy comparisons.
