I loved them too in the mid 80's but started going off them when they did Theatre Of Pain. I remember when The Crue and Ratt where the 2 biggest Metal bands going around. How the mighty have fallen.
Their self titled album with John Corabi up front is a surprisingly good album, which rarely gets the plaudits it deserves.
Most of their early albums had a few standout tracks, and a fair bit of filler. The self-titled album has less standouts but is a lot more even with good hard songs. Having Corabi play guitar as well, added a bit of grunt to their sound.

agree with Darko on the Corabi fronted s/t album..the best thing they did since Shout at the Devil..
Theater of Pain was a shocker in my opinion...and agree tons of filler on most of the other albums..Generation Swine was a shocker in my book..the first Vince Neil solo album was much better..actually so was his second
great to see Ratt get a name check..agree theyve lost the plot..Jizzy Pearl singing in Ratt is a joke..and then again I guess
Stephen Pearcy singin in Ratt in the 2000's couldnt be much better..i'm a big fan of Out of the Cellar and the Invasion of your Privacy albums from the day
Back to Crue their The Dirt book is one of the best music books around and a must read for anyone who was into em
Gave 'em away after 'Shout At The Devil',
I remember borrowing a mate's copy of 'Theatre Of Pain' when it was released, hating it, and never spending my hard earned on anything Crue again. 'Theatre Of Pain' is one of the worst albums ever made.
where's wally?
