Yeah very interesting. Cora Lynn is in some pretty good form i reckon and going for Nyora to upset Catani. They played some pretty good footy in patches against us just couldnt string 4 quarters together.

I will tip Nyora and Cora Lynn but who real knows after last weeks results. Nyora at there best are better than anyone and can score goals from everywhere so if they are on song should beat catani, but should be a good game, as most games between the 2 sides have been over the last few years.

will we see a shoot out between sheen & donno?
or will it be ultra defensive?

I reckon each of them will have a couple of opponents. Saw a bit a Longwarrys match last week and Donalson had one on him and one ten in front of him. I think Cora Lynn will do the same. 4 goals again would be a good return from Donaldson.

Hamilton did a great job on Ryan Ablett on saturday, if he is suspened it will make it a lot harder for longwary cos i cant see anyone else that could contain sheen in that side. Not sure if he has been to tribunal, i guess its proabably tonight, did anyone see the incident?

nAH what quarter was it in?

i used to play on hammo in the juniors.
must have improved his accountability since then.
Hoggwash
29th August 2007, 09:41
He kept Ablett to 2 goals and 1 of them was a downfield, cant do much more than that.
Warragul paper says hammo was not reported, very lucky from what i hear. 3rd quarter it happened then longwarry smashed bunyip with only 17 men.

poor bloke doesnt need that.
he's prob still a bit shaken up from the unfortunate event last month.......

Nyora by 16 points today, great game again, absolute shootout like most games between these 2 sides have been for the last few years. 10 goals to brad miles and 7 to osler. Miles the surprise, played back all year but dominated today. I think O fitz and entwisle kicked about 6 each so good day for the forwarsd.

only tipped 1 out of 4 but im sure experts wouldnt have done much better. Catani will be tipped to beat Nyora if they make it through to the grand final.

Your program worked very well towards the end off the year, guess it shows finals are a different game. Not many ppl would have tipped nyora or longwarry. I am prob a bit biased but i havent seen any teams in this league that can match nyora when they are on song. Not many teams can kick 8 goals in about 12 minutes against good sides and that ability has really helped nyora in finals over the last 2 years.
bigbadmal
6th September 2007, 12:30
yes finals are a different ball game and Nyora looked very good on Saturday. Great chance for back to back and probably should have been going for 3 on the trot. How will they go next year without Dean Alger and a few players who are reported to have signed with Korumburra next year?

We'll worry about next year if it happens. We lost a lot this year and have done pretty well so far.
Nobody has signed anywhere. Do players even ever sign anything except a clearance? So it's not something the team would be remotely thinking about.

I think the club is worried about winning one more game and thats it at the moment. If he leaves good luck to him, has been great for the club over 6 years. Players come and go every year, i think about 7 blokes that played on the weeked didnt play last year, thats a big turnover and the side is in the GF.

I reckon Nyora will be barracking strongly for Longwarry this week. Nyora are just about certainties if they play Longwarry in the GF, not so sure if they play Catani.

yes, they can sign a vcfl contract entitling them to money & things of that nature.
its a contract. like any AFL player would sign.
except much less money.
much, much less.

Nyora seem to have it over longwarry recently but its normally a close game with catani.
Whats a VCFL contract get ya if ya cant get a clearance, does it mean anything??

nah you still have to get a clearance before the contract means anything.
but, the contract makes sure you get what the club has promised you, ie. money; and you fulfill your requirements playing footy. ie. dont get shitfaced on friday nights, play to the best of your ability, try hard to get your clearance, all that crap.
Hoggwash
6th September 2007, 15:27
so i am guessing you have signed one then? do many other clubs use them?
bigpapagman
6th September 2007, 15:31
yeah i signed one last year.
um, i could imagine it would be illegal to recive money for playing without signing one. dunno. there are loopholes and stuff to get out of them. i looked into it earlier this year at about rd 3. :D
Hoggwash
6th September 2007, 15:58
I dont think it would be illegal to recieve money without them, no salary caps so it doesnt matter what ya pay.
bigpapagman
6th September 2007, 16:26
maybe not. i dunno. i guess if the club didnt trust that you would stay, then you would prob have to sign one.
not sure how it works.
its like an insurance against both parties, from what i can gather.
