View Full Version : Sheedy a BIG chance now
With Dean Bailey (who?) btb named as Melbourne coach very shortly & apparently (now laughing) Chris Connolly as head of Football Operations....there is a fair chance that Sheeds may come to Fremantle as head of Football Operations.
Harvey endorsed it a week ago in the media...Sheedy would not be in a coaching capacity but with his experience will obviously give a BIG hand to Harv's & co. I think this would not only be great for footy in this state, but a HUGE bonus for Freo if Sheeds comes.
I don't see the possible appointment of Sheeds as a bad thing for Harvey. They work well together, Harvey is already his own man...Sheeds will just bring more experience in the back half of the operations & more than likely still handle a fair bit of the media side of things & pumping up the club & antogining the crap out of opposition teams. The Weagles will hate it as well.
I say bring Sheeds to Freo...

Sheeds would be great for this club. I'm sure the job is there if he wants it. I am to assume he is going to be brought over for a head of Football operation style job.
I think CC would make a great Head Of Football Operations.

Thats what he's been saying - Head of Footy Operations....good timing with the Melbourne announcement shortly & Sheeds currently in WA this weekend. I would have put Sheeds at about a 10% chance of ever coming to Freo in last month, but just recent media interviews & Harvey's media hints...I reckon he's about 75% chance now.

I'd have to agree with you there. He seems like a good chance.
If ever a combo would be able to install the positive club & winners mentality in the club it would be these two. There are proven premiership winners and they are good mates.
I don't think it would be an overstatement to say Sheeds is the Guus Hiddink of AFL. He knows how to motivate players.
Harv's is the hard man we need.
Last week I heard from a club 'sauce' that Sheedy was a big chance to come over if he was unsuccessful with the Melbourne job.
Interesting to see if it turns out to be true, I'd have thought that he would be to much of a Melbourne man to leave town.

well, bailey just got appointent. reckon sheeds will come now, but i just hope that with all these names coming over here it doesnt draw attention away form the fact that we need players, and we need wins, and just by having those guys here doesnt necessarily mean we will start winning

With Sheeds and Harvey here the tail might think twice about wagging the dog. I wouldn't mind if they got rid of some whiteanters.

I have also heard from my 'club sauce' that he is a big chance. As long as the 'youthful' Harvey has a good say in the on-field issues then I think it's going to be a good move.

As soon as connoly was replaced, my immediate thought was sheedy is the #1 man to suit your club.

As Coaching advisor or as the coach himself?
Personally I would rather the club cut out all the rubbish and just made him THE coach.
Will the club wait to see what happens with Essendon and Harvey before doing anything regarding Sheedy?

They say its like the man utd set up but doesnt fergerson call all the shots as manager?I think it will be like NFL,Head coach who organizes the assistants, they call the plays on game day for eg.

That chick should have Purple Horde instead of Purple Army on that Banner... We are much bigger than an amry these days... hence Purple Horde [a.l.a Golden Horde]
