View Full Version : It's down to two. The Pies or the Roos!

If you take a look at the ladder, the equation for Sydney is pretty much black n white. If we defeat the Hawks, we move to 7th, putting us up against the Pies, because they can't go any lower or higher now, but if we lose we finish 8th, meaning our first final would almost certainly be against the Roos.
My question to you all is, who do we have more chance of beating? and, more importantly, who would we rather knock out of the finals?

Yeah, thanks for that.
3rd times a charm.. Collingwood of coarse..
Watching some of last nites game, the Crows played them very well, i saw alot of Sydney in the bits i watched, and was left wondering why we didnt play the same against them last week.

Cant flood at the G, and we played an entirely differnt gameplan to what we used against you god knows why.
Could be an interesting rematch if we meet the Pies again. With LRT and Leo back their talls won't get the same red carpet treatment they had last week. Barlow will have a little more freedom to move up the field if selected - which he did very well against the Lions. Crouch will hopefully be into his 3rd straight week of footy, which will help against their smalls. Amon will be back, of course. And with luck Hall will be better for the rest and able to find a similar 4 goal effort to top off close fought victory (knock wood).
Facinating to see what Dempster can bring to the table for us this week. I really hope he's finals fit.

Perversely, I would rather lose tomorrow. I think we're a better chance of beating the Roos than we are the Pies, and if we do we get another game in Melbourne (most likely against Hawthorn) rather than a trip to Perth to play the Eagles.
If we finish eighth, our tentative path through the finals looks like:
Kangaroos (MCG)
Hawthorn (MCG)
Port Adelaide (Football Park) or West Coast (Subiaco)
Geelong (MCG)
Compare that to finishing seventh:
Collingwood (MCG)
Port Adelaide (Football Park) or West Coast (Subiaco)
Geelong (MCG)
Port Adelaide, West Coast or Hawthorn (MCG)
I know which one I prefer.

Ouch :p
However both pathways would be extremely hard to negotiate.
Actually i hope we play you again my loose jaw is a reminded of one ******** i met at your game (king hit from behind ****en old bloke should of known better).
he went home hurt but it would be interesting if i sit next to that same prick again.

You point him out Optimax and we will publicly disown him. One idiot does not a bunch of supporters make, and your share is there because I saw a Collingwood guy detained for manhandling up one of ours outside the Ponsford on my way out and I don’t say that’s indicative.
Yell for your team and I'll yell for mine but I am not going to fight you (I'd rather run when fists are flying to be honest).
Simple, I want the swans tomorrow because I want them to regains some confidence, a draw and two losses going into the finals will be bad psych on the players no matter who we play.
Win get some sort of confidence and see if we cant go beyond week 1 of the finals this year.

The bloke was a ****wit and deserved what he got and apparntly he waited around for me two until my brother appeared again. Im not saying im or Collingwood supporters are saints but what pissed me off was that last week was all about how bad collingwood supporters were, its a load of rubbish.
Was very happy with the sydney supporters at the end of the match that came up and said he was a ******** but those that dont want to believ can go **** off

You guys seemed to have no problems doing it. If you were really there, you would have noticed.

Gee Snappy, haven't you learned yet? Only the Swans flood. Every other team gets numbers behind the ball.

I think this is the first time ever since I supported the Swans that I actually want us to lose. I really don't want to face Collingwood.
