i was shocked to turn on the tv with 5 minutes to go to see there is 1 goal in it when you were up by 44 at 3 qtr time. you guys should be grateful that you won, it could nearly have been a disaster.

What happened last year? They played every week of the finals and still won the finals. Win next week and who gives a **** what happened in this game.

How about, for once, some people on the West Coast board, instead of whinging, acknowledge the victory and that we withstood and AMAZING Hird/Lucas inspired comeback?

Who actually didn't think they'd come back?

Because we should have won by 80 comfortably....

I might be crazy, but I think worsfold is up to one of his tricks. They know they would lose 2nd if they didn't get enough goals. Is it crazy to think they'd prefer to play port and hand them a surprise? I mean, Port has lost in the first final in the past and that sent them out in straight sets.

You probably said the same thing when we lost to Sydney in the first final last year, Cuzz09.

Yes so let's complain because that will make it better!

It wasn't all us playing poorly, you can't be that stupid.

We should have won by more.. but we didn't, at least we still won and made the top four.
Despite your constant comments that we'll finish 7th ornot even in the top 8.

A team which religiously rapes our anus :thumbsd:

Yeah we don't deserve 2nd after that rubbish in the 4th quarter.

I'm not sure we were seriously contending for the flag anyway, too many times this year we have put up those sorts of efforts, the hunger ain't there this year.

If we're good enough to win the flag we'll win it from whatever position, finishing 3rd instead of 2nd is a poor excuse. We're definitely not in as comfortable a position as last year, so let's hope it brings out the best in the team.

Oh well..... What can ya do folks....

Worsfold should have known that they were gonna have 1 last 1 quarter crack at us.

Seriously.

Let the Essendon comeback serve a lesson in how to play with hunger and purpose. Play another quarter similar, we are finished for this year. Having said that, today we notch up 4 wins in a row. Only another run of 4 wins will see us going back to back.

You are crazy....

That was a team that got smahed (5 goals) by Richmond last last week!!

We will win another game if we play with the 1st half of the 1st quarter attitude of the 2nd quarter 2nd ha;f stuff but if we play like anything in the 2ned half thenwe are curtains!

Gee Cuzz09. This is the first time I have been on the WCE board. Do you even barack for the eagles. YOu made the top 4, that's a good thing mate! Anything can happen now.

I've seen you in the 3 different threads I've looked at and your fellow eagle supporters must hate reading your crap.

If that's the case you should be ecstatic that you'll get to see your team play a final at AAMI next week and despite your negativity I think that the eagles will win it.

It's hard for a team to stay hungry after a grand final win, normally that hunger returns when the real stuff starts in september.

Who was it that constantly jumped up and down being negative when we had a major form slump mid season? I'm sure people are sick of negativity, how about some positive comments for a change?

I'm with you on this :)

It gets a bit tiresome hearing about how disgraceful, insipid, pathetic, weak, yada yada the Eagles were.

Apart from acknowledging the Bombers now traditional fight-back against us, I also think this game (and the previous) exposes Woosha to a degree.

Take note guys, this is the attitude we should have (here's looking at you Cuzz09 ;))

Teams like Essendon always save their best for the blockbusters. I reckon no matter what, that's the kind of rivalary that makes big games, hell they still remember how the jacket waving thingo got started!

Ever heard of acknowledging your opponent?
They wanted to send off probably their greatest ever player and coach with a decent effort. I'm just glad we got across the line in the end.

Our away form hasn't been bad this year, and personally I think we'll beat port at AAMI.

Think positive!! Port are looking somewhat flat at the moment...
That said, I'd rather be playing four finals, seems to be the go when it comes to winning the big one the last few years! ;)

We'll take Geelong in the Prelim with Kerry back in, then we'll take the Port at the G on netural familiar ground :D

almost as much as the field umpires bounces weren't to the advantage of our ruckman...they were shocking!

Me. I thought we wouldn't have turned the 44 point lead into a 70 point win.

****ing pathetic.

It was 51 points at one stage, if they had just broken even at that stage the home final was theirs.
