Mattster,
I'm really looking forward to seeing how Geelong bounces back next week against a team who has found some form in the last couple of weeks in the Western Buldogs. We have an unbeaten record at home this year with an average winning margin of 15 goals so I'm quietly confident of coming away with the win.
Go Cats!!

I think that we should beback on the winners list next weekend. I also feel that its gonna be a lot closer than it should be!! The dogs arn't playing bad footy, if they can kick straight we will have problems. They had a good win over the swans today, so it will be a tough game!!

Im not a supporter of either team but i do remember the rd 12 match last year when you had them on toast in the first half only to be rolled in the final quarter. Im sure you won't get a similar series of events this year but dont expect that 15 goal winning margin to stay intact this week .Good luck

The 'Dogs may look to start a roll with their impressive win over Sydney at the SCG on Sunday, but they have been one of the most inconsistent and enigmatic teams of the competition.
However, Kardinia Park seems to be the Cats' fortress to the extent that they play with a completely different approach there. We'll see what happens later in the week in terms of injuries and recoveries and the like, but right now, I see the Cats winning by six or eight goals.
Cheers,
William

Yeah doggies have played pretty good footy in the past few weeks.
But then they aren't in the same calibre as brisbane, or port. or even hawks

I'd take a 1 point win at this stage :)
I doubt my Bulldogs will be too worried about travelling down Geelong Rd - the Dogs haven't lost at Kadinia Park since '96.
Last year we gave you a 47 pt head start, and even with Graham taking 16 marks, we still got home.

Can Geelong stop Darcy, West, Brown, Grant, Bandy, Johnson, Smith, etc?
Hmmmm, even if I wasn't horribly biased I'd have to give that one some serious thought....
In all seriousness though, if Chris Grant steps up to match Graham's effort, wherever he plays, then I believe we should win, not to mention the fact that it's Libba's 300th (sort of) AND Westy's AND Bubba's 200th this week and I can't remember the last time we lost a milestone game, especially one this big.
Plus we haven't lost there since '96.
Plus we're arguably in better form.
I think that the two determining contests will be King vs. Darcy and the Kids vs. the Kids. Whoever has the better crop at this stage may prevail.
Oh, and Croft needs to stop Mr Kingsley.
Should be a crackerjack. Dogs by 28 points.

I would question the fact that the Buldogs are in better form. You've beaten Carlton, (bottom team, very weak, lots of injuries) and Sydney, (terrible, out of form and are even fighting amoungst their own!!) so you guys haven't really beaten anyone of note yet this season!! ;);)
Having said all that, Ronnie Burns is due for a huge game soon and with a game under his belt last week, hopefully tomorrow will be Ronnie's day to kick a few goals and help the Cats to a good win!! :):)
Geelong by 27 points.
Go Cats!!

True...
All I meant is that if you look at last week's results, the Bulldogs won by 69 points, beating a team who was playing interstate, was above them (and your mob) on the ladder, while the Cats lost by an even heavier margin. And remember I said 'arguably', which is, lol, what we're doing now!
In the end, we're 2-6 and I can't defend that, and Geelong has some impressive players, espec. Mr Bartel, who we'll have to watch out for. Either way, it should be a good game.

What a very disappointing result for us today to lose to the Western Buldogs after leading by 40 points in the 2nd term. Like the previous 3 weeks, our young kids are finding it hard to play with the same intensity for a whole quarter at a time which is proving to be very costly!!
There's no point in dwelling in the defeat today. We showed at times we are capable of playing some outstanding football, we just cant keep up that same level which in time will come with experience and development.
It's all about being patient and learning from these games. The results this year are irrelevant, as the bigger picture is something that Geelong is working towards in the next 2 to 3 seasons.
Lets hope Geelong can improve that bit more next week against Melbourne at Skilled Stadium.
Go Cats!!

Geelong were pretty unlucky really though when you consider they had 19 more inside 50s than us(a little bit to do with our game plan but not all). The fact that they had that many more inside 50s shows just how valuable Grant was.Catters what is your honest opinion of how Kelly is coming on?

I was very impressed with his game on Saturday. He wasn't afraid to get in and under packs, or throw his weight around. I like that in a player and with more games he will get even better. He came across as similar to Buddha Hocking, with his attack on the ball.

He did a few good things in the 3rd qtr,but of course ended up on the bench.Thats what happens when you start doing good things.

JUBJUB,
I think Mark Thompson has to show more faith in the young guys and try not to worry about the end results as much. It's not enough to just play them in the side but on the bench, they have to be given roles out on the ground and left there.
I look at someone like Peverill at Essendon last year. Here is a guy who came off the rookie list and straight into the senior team and Kevin Sheedy gave him roles tagging the best players in the other side and look at how he's come along now!!
This is the sort of things Geelong need to be doing with our young kids to give them the confidence they need to become better footballers.
Go Cats!!

Bit like Scarlett. "How dare you kick 2 goals, your going back to the backline" is what Thompson must have said to Matty.
It explains why Graham is still up forward.
