I'm a Carlton man through and through and support the boys to win... even today in that 3rd quarter flurry I was rapt we had a chance.
Gibbs and Kreuzer?? for the rest of their careers at Carlton they and us will have to cop the flack that they're the tank boys.
I'm rapt that we'll have 2 players of this calibre playing for our jumper, but a part of me deep down knows we got them by "utilising the system" and that our brand has been tainted further.
I guess for me the satisfaction of us winning the next few years may not be as high as it would of been if we got out of our rutt winning as many as we were capable of and breeding as best a culture as we could have.
Kreuzer is not a positive to this season for me... it is Pratt, Ratten and not getting the wooden spoon.
Go Blues 08... I hope most of our wins next year have no Kreuzer influence just so we can see what this years crop had the potential to achieve.

Ok, well I assume when we're back playing finals you won't go because the experience will be similarly tainted for you. So you'll do the honorable thing and stay away and let someone on a lower horse go in your place.

If we really wanna get anywhere were going to have to improve before this kruezer kid is even ready to have an influence. Hopefully we start climbing the ladder next year and once these picks from the draft are ready it just tops things off nicely.

Despite there winging opposition supporters would have wanted the same if in our position and they would have given us shit no matter what. TBH I don't give a f#ck what they think.

Is that the same system that ****ed us over with the draft penalties, the same system which pushed us to the embarrassment of holding donation boxes outside princess park, is that the system you're referring to? Fremantle got Pavlich and Haselby through tanking...Essendon Gumbleton... it happens all the time.

We didn't tank to get him - we were really really bad! It's AFL's system that should cop all the flak - you guys have just acted within it

No, we ****ed ourselves over & suffered draft penalties & ended up holding donation boxes outside Princes Park (that's 1 's'). As a result we have been the worst performed team in the competition over the last 6 seasons. A period during which Richmond are the only other team than Carlton not to have played finals. In other words 14 teams have been able to demonstrate competitiveness under the 'system' you refer to. Best not to blame the 'system', I think we should look closer to home.
We didn't tank to get him - we were really really bad! It's AFL's system that should cop all the flak - you guys have just acted within it
Exactly right.
Any other club would have done exactly the same thing.
Other clubs may call them the tanking boys, I'll be calling them Premiership players :thumbsu:

seriously... i know that it has been a bad year, but WE HAVE A TEAM FULL OF KIDS. When will people realize this? Its going to take time.

This game was a win-win situation IMO.
If we won, we get another victory, quell the tanking rumours, end the season on a winning note and still get a top 3 pick.
If we lost, we get 2 picks in the top 3 in the draft, and can look forward to an extremely bright future.
So yes, I am very satisfied.

:eek::eek: Why don't you just get a life and stop whinging. Have a look at what happened today.
We had our youngest side in ever and they had a real crack. Look at the improvement in players like Jamieson, Bower, Kennedy and Betts under Ratton and the game Hampson played tonight. Then have a look at who the Melbourne good players were - Johnston, Bruce, Green and Robertson etc and ask where their improvement is going to come from.
We are going to put together a dynasty and all of our young players will grow together - you can see the spirit they have now. We are not manipulating the system, we have not been good enough (with Stevo,Cloke and Thornton out) to win anymore games. In any event Demitiou and his crew tried to f**k us last year by changing the system and all we have done is play by the rules. You can see how much the Draft means by the whinging and moaning that is now coming out of Richmond. You can see how filthy they are that we will get first crack at Kruezer.
Kruezer and say Cotchin/Morton and pick no.18 will not create much difference next year, but added to our current list they will enable to create some real havoc in 2 or three years.
We have been down long enough and the AFL and the other Clubs have been hanging sh*t on us for too long. It is time we got a bit of our own back. As I have said before we are Carlton and f**k the rest. Stop carrying on and get on board for the ride. We are almost back in town.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Not a whinge at all.. hope you can read...
My point is that it would of been more satisfying that our future success was 100% built on us trying to win every game and not work the system to help us get a number one draft pick or two.
Think about it.. wouldn't your satisfaction level of our team be that little bit higher if we worked ourselves out of the mud without having to manipulate our draft picks.
And for all of you out there pointing the finger at the AFL and for giving us harsh penalties... you need to stop thinking from the heart and step back and look what we did. We did the crime, we do the time! IT could have been worse and that is no excuse for us to use the excuse for our tanking as payback.
If any other club was given the same penalties for doing the same thing would you be all complaining on their behalf?

I don't know why everyone is so happy about Brett Ratten being coach: I mean, how many games has he won as coach? He was a great player but since he has taken over from Pagan, Carlton have looked as directionless as Tony Abbot at question time...:eek:
I know that everyone will harp on about how young the list is but come on guys, you've been saying that for 6 years...How long does it take to get some decent players??? Sad fact is your young (and not so young) players suck balls...:thumbsd:
Both SA clubs have always been competitive and as a result have not had many high up picks but you don't necessarily need high picks for success. Young Power midfielders Boak and Gray have already overtaken Bryce Gibbs because Port are professional with developing young players.
FFS, stop living in the past. The game is much more professional now than in the 1960s so you better throw the trainer wheels in the bin and grow up or else face extinction like Fitzroy...

I think maybe somewhere is your short worthless life as a Crows supporter you have got lost. If your pathetic side have ever dropped so low first off the crowds wouldn't go to the football and second they would leave like they do at 3qtr time.
Your understanding of the draft penalties combined with our mistakes of holding a old list is zero. You obviously have little idea what that impact was and how many years the fix takes. We lost a 5 year period of players with afl level skills. therefore we have little 26-30 years olds of good quality to hold us youngsters together when it comes tough during a game.
The punishment the AFL handed out was so large I think the AFL didn't realsie what a large impact it would have (not that they would ever admit it). Yes we tanked, yes we have had and still have great draft picks. Yes we are still losing most games but if you had a brain and got rid of the tunnel vision (still you have tears and emotions for losing Gibbs) you would see we have finally made a correct decision in not filling gaps but totally rebuilding for a successful future.
If I was you I would be more worried about your old list (midfiled is nearly ancient) and where you will be going over the next 5 years. We will pass straight by you.
And the answer is no, we don't want you telling people in your little town that Carlton is your second team and you use to barrach for them before the Crows came in.
I can tell you the slope you are at is very steep and not much fun.
