Best game of his career.
Good to see him convert his first goal from a set shot. Beauty from 50m.
My only criticism of him is that he's looking for the short option and doesn't run when clear or when he gets around his opponents - needs to be more arrogant. I remember reading that at juniors his had forced him to handball instead of kick the ball - I think that comes through in his footy now. The arrogance will come with time - Gibbsy will be a superstar. His class is unbelievable, has so much time when he gets the ball. :thumbsu:

He was always going to be. NEVER doubted it. His "bloodline" is strong.
In 10-12 years, I suspect that he will be mentioned in the same vein as Braddles, Diesel and the Dominator.
good solid game by Gibbs
next pre season will show him take on players more which i cant wait

Gibbs is a class act. Thank god Pagan is gone because he was destroying gibbs in the backline. Ratts has put him in the middle where he belongs. Ratts said a couple of weeks ago that we drafted him as a midfielder and we will play him as a mid

Did anyone else notice something James Hird-esque about his first term snapped goal?

thought it was more Buckley-esque but either way we gotta be happy!!
He reminds me so much of Hird. So much poise, time.
I expect last night's game to be repeated many a time next year!

I totally agree. Neither are super-fast but both rely so heavily on superior reading of the play, positioning and poise. It is the little things Bryce does i.e. that hand he gets in when making a tackle, the size-step through the pack while he hardly looks like he's moving that leaves every other player flat-footed and the impossible diving fist he gets in when he looks out of the contest (vs Hird and C.Johnson for example). I reckon he will be something really really special.

gibbs is already something special. he just does not panic in any situaion. and he never seems to back out of a contest. always ready for whats coming at him. great asset to the team. him and murphy are future captains

Imagine this Followers line up in 3 years:
Ruck: Kruezer/Hampson
Ruck-Rover: Gibbs
Rover: Murphy
People, that's why the opposition supporters hate us at the moment. They know what's coming people.:D
As has already been mentioned, just the poise, composure and class of Gibbs is just amazing for someone so young. Once we get Nick back into the team, plus a decent ruckman, who knows what our midfield will be doing next year. Scary!

Gibbs, Hampson and Grigg>>>>Leuenberger and Proud. :thumbsu:
what i hope, for now, is that Bryce has a nice holiday back with his family and comes back to enjoy a pre-season and season. i hope he finds a good balance in his life. Everything else will fall in to place after that.
