I know quite afew supporters are having a little winge.

whaaaa, we have lost souls, whaaaa

but there were massive positives in ths game for me

* Eddie's 26 possesion 5 goal game
* the PP and not being close enough to have to stress about it
* we were competetive with half our team out and the 4th youngest team in history
*Kennedy and Hammer (loved his mark and goal, good tap work to) in particular showed some great signs
* Gibbs played his best game for the club and actually kicked a set shot
* Scotland was brilliant and Murphy was good

There are positives in every game, no matter how bad.

Kudos to you for making one, I need a little bit of positivity at the moment.

* We didn't win the spoon, thank god.

* Betts best game for us.

* Gibbs finally having his freedom, expect him to improve when we start being more competitive.

I agree. There definatley seems to be raised melodrama levels in here tonight. Plenty of non-draft related positives to take out of our game. Some people need to chill out a bit.

Was happy as you can be (even though we lost) considering we fielded a high school team against a team with some experienced played retiring.

Job done i geuss now the draft:thumbsu: and delistings:rolleyes:

I completely agree. 2007 was ALWAYS going to be a development year for us. Finishing 8th, 12th or 15th didn't matter. The whole point was to get valuable game time into our younger players. Getting picks 1 and 3 is a nice bonus. Our list while talented, is still extremely raw. Moments of brilliance and then terrible mistakes. Ratten has a huge amount of work to do, but the potential is unbelievable. Apart from good draft choices, the next most critical thing to get right, is the right support staff so we can fast track the development of this talent. 2008 is going to be an awesome year. :)

I think he got 6 kicked on him, and just like the game against Essendon even though he got a bag kicked on him he 'looked' impressive.

Can't wait to see our young midfield Blossom when stevens comes back and our ruck division becomes at least competitive!

Only 8 months to go before round 1 lol

I didn't see the game. Was Betts used as a midfielder or forward? Incredible game by him

Im not criticising, just curious. Considering Jamison had 6 kicked on him by Lloyd, and now 6 by Robertson, why is everyone saying he looks so impressive? I didn't see the game today, so considering he had 6 kicked against him, what was so impressive about him and his play?

Im worried he'll become the next Zac Dawson if he continues to have these high totals kicked against him

They are all positives, but the fact remains we were humiliated in the first quarter & the game ceased to be a contest after that. We were competitive in that we didn't let Melbourne thrash us, but they just did enough to maintain their advantage & that was all they had to do.

I take my hat off to Heath Scotland though, he has consistently given his all this season & should comfortably win our B & F. Of course at times his disposal has been sloppy, but overall he has continued to present, put his body on the line & have a 'red hot' go. What a fantastic pick up he has been. Thanks Collingwood.

I agree. While Carrots has been great this year his disposal is still poor and it usually hurts the team. Scotland deserves the B&F.

First of all, out of Lloyd's 6 there were a few cheapies in there.

Robbo kicked 5 or Jammo today but given how free flowing the game was Melbourne went to Robbo almost everytime they went forward. I can remember Jammo spoiling him about 8-9 occassions. When he gets the ball, he knows what to do with it, he is cool, calm and collected and seems a smart footy player. Has a good spoil and keeps up with opponents on most occasions on the lead... Try and watch the game to see:
a) how many times the dees went to Robbo
b) how many times Jammo was on his tail and put in a nice fist
c) watch his other decisions in the back-half

I dunno maybe its just me but I think the lad has looked super impressive since he debuted...

Agree with everything here, except his disposal. My only qualm with him - seems to turn over the ball quite a bit, particularly by foot.

Right i am going to give a a little review of our list by performance, Strengths/Weaknesses/Improvements

1-A. Walker - has played 50+ games now needs to start delivering. Needs to improve on his disposal. Could be at a new club next year. Overall 5/10

2 - J.Russell - + more game time. - still soft Had some good games but needs to improve on his consistency and ability to run out a game. 5/10

3 - + great user of the ball, needs to probably kick more goals. will be aided by the return of nick stevnes. 7/10

4 - + played every game (still bottom age), would like to see him kick more goals next year. watch out for him next year. 7/10

5 - Needs to keep improving next year. good long kick, will be better for this year. Must learn to keep his feet and not fall to ground so easily. I am hoping this bloke turns it on for us in the next 18 months. 4/10

6 - terrific leadership when given the chance. Needs more support. also when we become better, this guy will play a supporting role which is going to be perfect. 7/10

7 - tried hard all year. Probably will remain on our list but it is hard to see him LB and Carrots all playing at the same time. 4/10

8 - feel sorry for red. Won't be there next year if a tough decision is made. Unfortunate reality. Otherwise must play at full forward. 2/10

9- tried hard but definitely not going to be there when we start delivering.
3/10

11 - Welcome Matthew Kruezer!!! This bloke is not a ruckman. Gave the ball to opposition most times and his running scared.

12 - thanks for the memories

13 - Read AB

14 - absolute star quality all year. Great mark. Will continue to get better. Understood what is required to be a consistent top line football. Must now back it up. 7/10

15 - will be coaching Shepparton United next year

16 - looks the goods. I am wrapped with this bloke. This is the type of player that we need more of. Will be very good. Don't be suprised if he arrives next year.

17 - super effort to play in every position on the ground. Will only be better for the run this year.

18 - showed plenty in his last month of football. Especially courage in the back half. will be better again next year. COuld lose him to Freo if he wants to go home.

19 -much better when ratts took on the role.

I will continue tomorrow. Feel free to add comments on the 1-19 players. This is very brief

Taking waite off after he kicked a goal in the 3rd term showed what our coaching staff thought about winning today. I'm glad they had the same feelings as most of us. After todays loss we are back - I know it sounds stupid but with another 3 top 20 picks and another year in the gym for murph gibbsy t-bird hammo carlos jammo etc ..., I believe we have a team of young superstars. I've have felt sick hoping they would lose their last 6 games, but it will be WORTH THE WAITE:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Robbo kicked 6, but imagine how bad it could of been, jammo had 13 spoils, and scotland cut off attacks to robbo on 3 occasions

Yeah... lets stop arguing about who are the better supporters for our club and start concentrating on the positives...

Eddie... great game for us, hope to see a lot more from him next year in the way of consistancy.

If we are this competitive with an extremely young team of raw, but talented kids, what are we going to be like next year.

Cloke is going to be back as the #1 ruckman for the club and hackland will be banished to the reserves. Aisake and Hammer will fight it out for the #2 ruck position or Hammer will be the #2 ruck and Aisake will be our 201cm ruck-rover :D

Gibbs played a full season with distinction as a first year player... he is definitely going to be much better.

Waite and Fish, injury free for most of the season and showing why they are still with the club. Expect more of the same from them next season.

Setanta and Jamison becoming our FB and CHB and the Blues finally getting a settled back line that has some class about it.

Stevens, Murphy and Carrots in the midfield running amok next year... who is the oppositions best tagger going to take out of those three.

We have some talented kids coming into the club which will assist our future.

The only downsides to the year has been Fev's constant brain explosion and Lance's degrading knee injuries which might cut down on his future.

If Fev can sort out his head, we will have a 100goal full forward playing for us next year... without a doubt.

Lance still has a role in the club. Whether it is as a player or as a development coach it has still to be decided, but I dont think that we should just discard him like a used condom.
