Do you think Seaby would add value at Carlton. A player that has enjoyed loads of success in the West and is a more than capable ruckman backing up the best Ruckman in the comp in one of the best teams ever essembled.. Would be good option to nuture Hammo and Kruez, who if taken by the blues would more than likely play forward, back most of theyear as a second choice option to allow his body to grow.. Kreuz remember is a 199cm midfielder!!!

He would be a good get.

HOWEVER, he would cost a hell of a lot more than we should be willing to part with, and we don't really need him now that we'll probably get Kruezer.

No!!!!! We might as well re-recruit Deluca. A truely terrible ruck :)

Most definitely not. Would be the starting ruckman at more than a few clubs in the competition.

My thoughts exactly. If we do get Kreuzer (looking almost certain) then we've got our ruck stocks in place and really wouldn't be worth giving up the huge amount the Weagles would want for Seaby.

WC need a backup to Cox as they have little else on the list and wont trade Seaby unless its something huge in there favour.

They took Spaanderman last year as insurance and that says how desperate they are.

Seaby is a very talented player and would be by far the best ruckman on our list (not saying much). We'd have to give up a lot to get him, which is why we won't get him.

While not completely agreeing with this statement I do agree with the sentiments. I go to watch West Coast play almost every time they play in Melbourne (family supporter) and recruiting Mark Seaby would be like recruiting yet another back up ruckman. He is a good back up ruckman but is not, and never will be a number 1 ruckman. Besides as others have mentioned West Coast only have 2 ruckman on their porimary list so we would have to pay way over the odds. Not worth considering in my opinion.

People were saying the same thing about Cox 5yrs ago when Gardiner was dominating.

Cox always had the attributes. I'm not sure Seaby has the leap required or the engine.

Seaby has a good set of hands and is quite effective drifting forward and positioning himself their. I don't think he has the combination of speed and a tank that Cox has shown (not immediately but within a couple of years of debuting) and that is required to play as a number one ruck and his ruckwork itself isn't really up to what you would expect for a number one ruckman. Hence in my opinion as a backup, occasionally standing up for the number one role, very good, as a number one man for the whole season, no thanks.

Seaby is a very good athlete, its one of his best attributes. His DC results were outstanding for a ruck. Dont know why you guys are questioning his leap or running power.

Exactly
- Kruezer
- Hammer
- Aisake

I think we will be just fine.

And we have Cloke and Ackland for the next year or two while the other three finish their "apprenticeships".

I'd be more inclined to go after Lade because:

1. He is currently one of the best ruckman in the game and will provide excellent delivery for our developing midfield immediately.
2. He only has about 3 years left in him, which is about the size of the ruck hole we need to plug.
3. In those 3 or so years he will offer much more to Kreuzer, Hampson and Aisake as a mentor than any other current AFL ruckman.
