Will the big Brendan Fevola be at carlton next year. I keep changing my mind on if i want him at carlton or not. The word at the Carlton Presidents lunch the other week was that he had bought a house in perth. not sure what the deal is there.

Also..
I was just looking around and found that all those richmond rats have been bagging the hell outta us in a thread with 7 pages. how stupid.

I posted this in another forum about Fevola...

In reference to Fevola, he has a heap of physical ability, i cannot express that enough.....however Ted Whitten said footy is played 80% above the shoulders and thats where he is lacking significantly, i played footy for over 20 years and guys like Fevola would come in for a few yrs initially be loved by everyone but by the end of their time people would see that players like him play for themselves and individual glory........He is someone that younger people are drawn to because of the attention he gets, via the Footy show etc and his physical ability; However it is all about him and that is something I don't want our young guns looking to as a guide to football. To be successful u need footy heads at the helm who's priority is to have team success, Fevola is not a a team player or footy head....look at the succesful clubs and u have leaders at the clubs that first and foremost are footy heads and not larrikins in the media as Fevola is and Crawford (hence no longer capatin replaced by a footy head) was. Even tho Fev is not Captain he has just as much influence on the team, as we have very weak leaders at the moment unfortunately, and I don't think this is going to change in the immediate future, hence Fevola should go.

The serious guys on the footy show are Bucks, Pavlich etc etc....they are respected because there first priority is the club and thats why teams such as collingwood with a mediocre list do well because that list follows a good leader (even tho he is a collingwood ar#e).......Carlton with someone like Nick Stevens at the helm, less Fevola would develop incredbly quick.

Go Blues, never let the tail wag the dog.....

Just because he brought a house in melbourne doesnt mean he isnt leaving carlton,

i also keep changing my mind, because he will not be part of our next big surge for a premiership, and he will not be there to win us a flag. He will be too old, like Stevo and Scotland. The young kids and draft picks are our future and in the long term, fev isn't needed/part of our premiership plan. If (whoops! when...) we win our next premiership, the likes of fev, stevo and scotland will have retired or be old (footy sense). The future is in the kids like Jamison, Jacksn, Murph, Gibbs, and unfortunaltely, Fev might be good trade bait for some higer draft picks (for a young forward to replace him)

At the end of the day even if he has purchased a house
in Perth, he is still contracted to the blues so if Carlton
want to keep him they can and if they don't they can trade
him but fev does not get to choose if he goes to Perth
or not.

Fev will be 29/30 in 2010/11 - definitely not too old.

I expect that he'll stay.

He is just too good. I don't think we can do it. If we didn't have Fev over the past few years then I believe we would have won a considerably less amount of games. He is a superstar and can single handedly turn a match. There are so few players who do that. We would get a good player for him, but we would be giving up a player who can kick a huge amount of goals and lift a whole side. I just don't think we can afford to do it.

There is no doubting the talent, but a superstar Full Forward doesnt guarantee u flags I would rather a power pack marking forward that Fevola isn't...he is in the mould of Dunstall who was a great team player and made up his pack marking inefficiencies through his ability to get the ball off the deck himself, which Fev is poor at......I think we should trade him and get more quality, develop Kennedy as the power Earl Spalding mould and go from there.......Fev has had his chances, Carlton always won flags without a dominant full forward which is why we have only had one who has kicked 100 goals and he was a freek in Jezza....

I also keep changing my mind -about whether Fev or Waite is my favourite player...

For all you schoolteachers out there who worry about his disruptive influence on our precious young superstars of the future, learn to live with it! -Fev aint going anywhere, if for no other reason than because without Fev there's no way Carlton will win enough games over the next 2 years for Ratts to get another contract.

So you can rest assured Ratts make sure Fev stays a Blue.

Just want to ask u if u know who Carltons Coach of the Century was...................do u know?????? Proabably not, well it was David Parkin, do you know what he did for a living, probably not he was a SCHOOL TEACHER!!!!!

I am not sure if u have played footy or not I have played for over 20 yrs and blokes like that disrupt clubs and thats the whole reason he wasn't made captain this yr when he had the chance.....being judged by your peers is the greatest judgement of all, why do u think he wasn't selected??? He is a pickle who plays for himself.....I love Carlton as much as anyone, thats y to go forward he must be traded......

Why do you constantly presume I don't know? Did a wise school teacher tell you to underestimate the knowledge of people you are having a disagreement with?

AND...I never said there was anything wrong with being a school teacher or that school teachers couldn't coach football, seems like I struck a raw nerve...what's your current profession? :p

I am not sure if u have played footy or not I have played for over 20 yrs

And how did that go for you? How many VFL/AFL premierships did you win? Bownlow medals? Coleman medals? Norm Smith medals? And was that followed by a decorated career as a senior coach?

Who is talking about making Fev captain?!?!?!

He is a pickle who plays for himself.....I love Carlton as much as anyone, thats y to go forward he must be traded......

Your opinion may well be that he MUST be traded.

I'm just trying to prepare you for the inevitable disappointment you are heading towards when he is NOT traded.

Obviously u were bagging school teachers when u referred to them wanting to stop Fevola continously disrupting the young blokes, or can't u read ur own message....

Not that it matters what anyone does for a living but I am an auditor actually a person who is paid to analyse companies day in day out.......

I also captained my local footy club for about 4 yrs, played in premierships and did top our goalkicking....not the AFL, but i think i might have an idea of whats needed in a footy club......and the one thing that i was taught from a young age is that individuals do ur club no good....that was drummed into us by a former Richmond Premiership player.....he might have known what he was talking about as he was coached by one of the greatest coaches of all in Tom Hafey......

My opinion carries no weight i understand that, i am just telling u and all the other guys sucked in by Fevola that i think he should go......

If he stays i will back him all the way (not that that counts for much I know)...but believe me we are better off without him....i hope he makes me eat my words if he stays, but i dont think he will....

Oh for god sakes, Fev is staying at Carlton. He says he wants to, and anyone in the right mind set would also want him to.
