Add Bannister
Keep Banno for another year, he is a useful tagger and his disposal isn't that bad

Will we have any players to delist next year?

I think that Young also will be in trouble
cheers
Kouta, Lappin, McLaren, Teague, Raso, Saddington = 6 spots
Promoting Aisake, Jackson, and possibly Jammo only leaves us with 3 picks in the draft!! Flint and possibly Banno are in some trouble...
Retired:
Kouta
Lappin
Delist:
Raso
Teague
McLaren
Bannister and/or Saddington
Trade:
Whitnall+pick 52 for a 2nd round pick
Rookie elevation:
O'hAilpin
Jackson
Draft picks: 1, 3, 20, another 2nd round pick, 36, 68....
Pre-season draft: pick 2

Gone
Koutoufides - pick one
Lappin - pick three
Mclaren - pick 20
Teague - pick 36
Raso - pick 52
Whitnall - trade or pick 68 (would move up the order because clubs in the finals won't draft that deep - but we should :thumbsu: )
Saddington - pick two in the PSD.
Likely to go
Wiggins - promote Jackson
Flint - promote Aisake :(
Young is gone.
Jamison can stay on the rookie list for another year.
Hartlett and Edwards should stay if it works out this way.
If we trade Fevola we might have to cut more players because you have to use the picks that are involved in a trade.
I think.

But, I honestly think that we can suck in a team to give us a second round pick for lance without us losing a selection.

Maybe one of Blackwell or Bentick to go as well.

what is wrong with Saddo? He did really well under Ratten because he was finally being used the way he should have under pagan. We have the worst defence in the AFL, so why do we want to get rid of more defenders?

The rise of Jamison and Bower's good form I think has led to Saddo being waved goodbye.
Setanta, Thornton, Bower, Jammo, Austin as tall defenders, with Banno, Scotland, Anderson, Walker as smaller type defenders, I can't really see a spot for Saddo back there.

Wiggins
That's who i'd let go of. Nobody will want Whitnall, and i honestly think retaining him for one more year won't hurt us. If he can get his kicking right he could have a decent year next year.
Bannister is needed, as he is our only tagger. He has done some great jobs this season in particular on Grant, B. Johnson and C. Cornes. He should stay.

agree, saddo isn't half bad, (i may have said on another thread) i think he is there for the experience and maturity, not for his sublime skill. He can get jobs done, so i wouldn't delist him yet. Maybe a good trade for him??

keep blackwell for another yr..bentick go
one of them has to go, but bentick is our best tackler, his awareness and speed really lets him down, this one may go down to a toss of a coin, because, 1 has to go.

saddington, bentick, banister and many more are too inconsistent, that is a reason why we can be soo ordinary...we need to build a team without players like these who manage to fluke a good game once in a while!!!

we should keep saddo because he adds experience to the backline and is playing better under ratts. Offer him a 1 or 2 year contract so he can add some maturity next year and give him a chance to improve. As soon as our backline develops he'll be gotten rid of.

i have heard Edwards wants to get traded to saints or richmond (i dont know why those two clubs)
I am getting abit tired of this 'Bentick and Blackwell; one of them must go' crap. They're not the same type of player at all. Blackers is good at stoppages, has dancing feet and finds the footy a heap, but doesn't get a lot of contested footy though.
Bentick is a clearance specialist, stands up in tackles and is usually always found at the bottom of the pack to dish out a handball. Gets a fair bit of contested ball.
Just because they both aren't lightning quick and both fairly small midfielders doesn't mean they are the same type of players!!

Dreaming. No side will trade for Lance Whitnall. Not a second round pick or a third round pick or anything.

Western Bulldogs will want Lance Whitnall, as Eade said, there's no point picking up a big man if he's not going to add to their list, Whitnall will add something to the Bulldogs list for a year or two, he proved yesterday that he can still mark the ball as a leading forward, he had a good game, but his kicking let him down.
The Doggies will offer us something for him.

Six players there. Assuming we are taking four picks in the National Draft, one in the Pre-Season draft and elevating Aisake and Jackson (retaining Jamison on Rookie List), that leaves one spot to be opened up. Possible that one of Whitnall and Saddington will go, although I would prefer both to stay and to delist Bannister. Edwards and Wiggins rough chances to be cut. The rest are probably safe.

He didn't play this week,so his gone,Bannister played and Whitnall,so i'm thinking they survive.I think if Flint gets the chop,Ratten didn't keep his word playing all the kids to see if they can play he was available all the others like Raso,Benjamin and Edwards were out injured.

His gone for all money he is near 30 and Whitnall played Sunday and couldn't kick for shits,Whitnall couldn't be that bad, never been that bad and still get plenty of the ball.

Didn't his dad play for Richmond, maybe he is a St Kilda supporter as a kid?his old man played for collingwood as well. Wouldn't have thought he would to leave carlton just yet. injuries at the wrong times have hurt him not being overloked.

Finally we will be in a position where good to average players are moved on.
For way too long it has been too easy to pick your delistees at the start of the season. We have been running with lists of 30-35 rather than the proper 44 list.

Benjamin & Edwards were injured. If Flint & Raso couldn't get a game after what Ratten said I'd say they might not have been good enough.
