Last year the rebals had a bumber draft with the two brown boys and Grigg all going in the top 20 and frawley going down the list.
how will they go this year? i see Hinkley and Austin are going to draft camp, how are there chances? and is there anyone else that has played there (eg Pete weir who has fallen off the radar) or any others who might go a little unexpected. Maybe a taite Radley as a project player?
I'm just trowing names around now and any imput would be appricaited.

Cheers :thumbsu:

my first post..from melbourne.. so cant shed a lot of light but was surprised to not see them in the phantom draft altough, attendees at draft camp obviously have clubs interested and counts for more credibility than a some what favourable although interesting phantom draft. From what i saw at nationals.
Austin- Skillful, ellusive on-baller with obvious athletic capabilities. Very much a modern mould of footballer who will be drafted.
Hinkley- Likewise athleticlly gifted, the way he moves will surely grab attention of many scouts. Skills seem sound, a project player but ability to break lines means huge upside.

Saw bits of hobbs but wasn't overly impressed.

Im sure after last years draft and the success of the griggs, browns, frawleys, the rebals program would be very highly rated, so a couple of roughies in the likes of tasman clingan may be pulled off. Hope that helps drop punt...

Pretty Big wraps on Austin, one of the best to come through the rebels I'd reckon.

Austin is overrated. Yes, he does have that a typical Nth Ballarat Rebels Midfielder body- Strong 75 kg, 6'1 type that is silky smooth when he gets the ball. however, when he does in fact get it, he'll have 7 posessions and kick 3 goals. The problem is he is lazy- he is 'satisfied' witht hat 7 posessions. He doesn't gut bust/ really work hard enough on the field and that shows in his output. Doesn't do enough for mine.

Hinkley attracts the footy, gets plenty of it, has a great turn of speed, yet is probably the worst kick for a draft hopeful. Haven't analysed his kick biomechanically but it may be in his ball drop. If he continues with this during finals, he'll struggle to get picked up.

austin should be a huge chance, if taite radley made it james hird was a useless player, radley would be an avarge player in under 12s!

all i know about radley is that he was pretty handy when younger and that he has been playing full forward for the rebals and is underage so was wondering how he went. thanks for been honset. and you raise a goo point with suban, i have heard he isnt all that tall?

Kyle Cheney & Nick Suban are the only Rebels to have made the TAC Cup team...

Chances?

Sorry, my bad

Cheney isn't though...

Solid HBF...

Is he any chance to sneak in?

pretty short, fast, fairly solid, apparently not old enough yet but once he is huge chance at maybe 2nd-3rd rounder

i think he could be a chance to sneak in, pretty quick off the half back line, maybe go as a late pick?
