surely based on his year he will be recognised as an All Australian for the first time. Has had an oustanding year of half back giving us plenty of drive and has got great skills on both sides of his body (rarely misses), clearly deserves to be rewarded. Backed it up with 41 possessions yesterday and top 6 in the league for disposals. Will win our best and fairest easily.

Thoughts??

Won't happen. He is seen as a good average player in the eyes of most pundits.

It worked for Bowden last year........

A really good season overall for Scotland, doubt he did enough to earn an AA though.

I don't think any Carlton players will be considered.

no. 4

Statistically he deserves it but on performances and reputation he is behind alot of players.

Big Red did similarly last yr without an opponent not as many kicks but he did get a few....easy to get kicks like that.....i like Scotland but he needs to be getting his kicks around the centre of the ground hurting opposition, not in the back 50......it would be interesting to see his inside 50 kicks......look at McLeod doing the same sort of thing, he usually gets it on the half back line gives it off and then receives again, then usually spots up a target in the forward 50...who would u rather in ur All Australian???? No brainer if u ask me....

he is a sam fisher (saints) type, he does pick up heaps of posesions, and they are effecytinve, but he is a sweeping role, usually with no opponent? He will come close in the B&F, but not AA

I'd be very, very surprised if any Carlton player was named AA.

Wouldn't have in AA contention to be honest. Heath Shaw and Sam Fisher have both been better in the same type of role, although Scotland has had a very good year. I'd say there would be 40 players more worthy of an AA spot than Heath, this year.

Only Carlton player that will even be considered will be Carrazzo. Scotland isn't even close.

Threads like this are the reason why I have boycotted the Carlton Board, our closest player would be Andrew Carrazzo

Well no Carlton player has even made the squad of 40 in contention!

His 41 possies are the equal to Kerr's 20 odd touches and 2 goals

Yes and no. Getting it 41 times playing without an opponent in the back half in a dead-rubber game is not as awesome as it looks on paper. If stats were everything, guys like Junktime Joel Bowden would be in Brownlow contention every year. Brian Harris' 20 mark game from earlier this year would be talked about in the same revered way as Kouta's 18 grabs against the Eagles way-back-when.

The stats mean squat. Kerr getting 20 possessions in the guts, driving his team forward and kicking a few goals is every bit as likely to get Brownlow votes and be *valuable* as picking up loose cheap junk behind the ball.

With all that said, I think Scotland does the sweeper job really well at the back, and I see him definitely finishing in the top 2 (with Carrazzo) in the Blues' B&F. And he's not quite AA this year, but is as close as the Blues have.

For any1 that understands the game and actually watches teams other than their own, Kerr's 20 odd touches would consist of 10 contested possies, 5 odd entires into the 50, 2 or 3 assists and about 5 rebound out of the 50. Much more valuable than running behind some1 for a handball recieve hit a target 20 metres away, receive the kick from a kick in and so on.

Run along now fool.

Ild rather Kerr's usuall 12 Contested Possessions and his 5 entrys into 50 then a mans 41 possessions really, its MUCH more valuable winning a 50/50 contest for your team the just recieving the ball and being a link-man without any pressure

WInning more 50/50 possessions is much more Valuable then having one man be the "link man" from the back pocket to the wing, running unopposed. Anyone can do that, Not many are willing to throw themselfs in a 50/50 contest to win their team possession of the ball.

A reason why Kerr is rated much Higher then Scotland.

Also, dont type "any1" it gives away the fact you are a 12 year old.
