Everyone who is a hawthorn fan get out to the TD this week and support the team that has brought you much joy this year (much more so than frustration compared to other years)
The team has not come 5th and won 13 games for no reason. We are a top side and I strongly believe last week was an aberration.
I, like most hawthorn supporters was extremely angry after sundays performance, but I have had time to cooldown from it and the more I think about it, the more I am looking forward to the game on saturday.
Do not despair, the hawks will bounce back! Only once this year have they not recovered from a loss. In regards to the game on the weekend, I put it down to the hawks looking too far ahead. They expected the swans to just lay down just because they rested Hall and Roos said they were going to try something different. He is a liar and the team will never fall for this again. Their intensity level was non-existant on the weekend but this will change next week.
Here are some of the reasons why the hawks will turn it around this week:
1 The game against earlier on in the season was a one off shocking night. The crows came to play and our intensity was shocking, we didn't handle the conditions at all and we played thurgood (14 games for 14 losses when this bloke plays).
2 We are playing at the Dome this week, where we have played good football this year (4 wins out 5 games with two of these being margins of 100 pts and 84 pts)
3 We will have the crowd behind us and the conditions suiting us this week
4 In 2001 the hawks stumbled into the finals and noone gave us a chance to win any finals let alone two. The swans were tipped to thrash us in the EF and we came out and gave them a hiding. A week is a long time in football
5 We have the most enigmatic team in the league. Just because the crows play a lockdown style it does not mean that we cannot win the game. At our worst we are shocking, but when we got on a roll, we are incredibly hard to stop, with players like Franklin, Hodge, Roughead and Lewis able to do alot of damage in short space of time if they get their confidence up. There are a few examples this year of this.
6 In reality, we really have nothing to lose this week. We were tipped to miss the eight, while the crows were a chance to have a crack at the flag. Our future is bright while the crows best players are getting old. The hawks will be seeting after last week and will come out and give their all, this week I believe.
Go hawks!

"Possibly the worst performed side ever to play finals football" we were widely described as in 2001 - after a shock loss to freo.

we started badly - 5 goals down first quarter against - sydney swans - who had finals experience from 1996 - we whipped them.

went over and started the rot against an inexperienced Port adelaide (who had finished top)

raped in the PF against essendon - maybe they thought we didn't 'deserve' it.

Mind you adelaide are also a good finals club so saturday will be match of the round.

Our team is arguably better than our 2001 team - which had 21 yr olds croad and hay starring.

Are the doomsayers saying schwab was a better finals coach than clarkson ?

Our team has trouble backing up great performances but I think we will give it a good shake on saturday, injuries permitting.

8-10,000 max.

Seriously if we can't fill a 50,000 boutique stadium for a final, we are a disgrace.

I thought it was Paul Hudson?

Anyway I just got my tickets, L2, so I'll be there giving those interlopers hell to pay for crossing our border.
