Interesting Meakin said "we hadn’t been able to contact the two player directly it was decided not to name them". In other words if they'd been able to contact them they would have named them no matter their wishes. Seven are Scumbags.

The media usually wait until the very last minute to make contact so the clubs and players don't have enough time to suppress the story. It's a tactic they've used for decades, but in this case it backfired because they couldn't find the players at the last moment.

You're so right 'clubsprint', Channel 7 News are all about commercial advantage above morals. No wonder people get angry with the media… there are those that give the rest a bad reputation.
I reckon a fame culture has emerged within a new generation of journalist circles (particularly in sport) - they are so busy following the fame game for their own egos - going to ‘A’ list functions and posting information (more like gossip & misinformation) through TV, articles and blogs to cause trouble.
The fact that they cannot be scrutinized by the law exacerbates their arrogance and they think they’re above the charter of their industry.
It’s not the first time something like this has happened (Dylan) - these guys just want it all too fast and they don’t have those little voices in the brain saying “don’t do it because.......”
Wasn't Dylan Howard fired by 3aw or someone like that?
Or is this what this thread is about... maybe I should have read it. :o

He certainly was. I note that there is nothing mentioned in the HS or on C7Funny isn't it, when it's virtually one of their own you hear nothing. As Schultz said "I know Nothing".... lol
I would love to plaster that news all over the media, but guess what? It wouldn't get printed or broadcast. They would consider it none of OUR business!!!
