Just wondering who from Meesen, Wood or Moran would be a better target for the Tigers if they are set on chasing a young ruckmen in either trade week or the PSD?

As I understand it both Meesen and Wood are out of contract and down the pecking order at their current clubs, not sure about Moran's contract status at the Roos but have heard he is frustrated about not getting the opportunity to play.

I dont see the hype around Moran to be honest, sounds like just a reallly tall flanker, Kelper Bradleyish

Not sure about the comparison Moran is listed at 200cm and 104 kg which is a bloody huge flanker.

First I have heard about it.

Kelper is listed as 198cm, i think the only difference is that moran wasnt pick 6 and didnt get any of the expectation that bradley had

I suppose but Bradley is played primarily as a defender while Moran is touted as a ruckman.

Seaby announced in todays paper that he is staying with WC. (Beaudy)

Agree that on exposed form Wood seems the best bet for a club like Tigers.

And also the fact that Moran is the fastest ever recorded draftee, and is a ruckman, unlike Kepler.

Have you seriously ever seen Moran play, because hes only played 2 games, as his first game was one of the best debuts by a ruckman in recent time, his second he hardly got any game time. So im asuming you watch alot of Tasmanian games, by which you'd realise Moran got around 5 straight BOG's for them during the season.

Just thought it would be best to ask those that know a bit more about the kids than just going by where they are drafted on draft day. Thanks for the responses.

for tasmania, wow, we know that team is brimming with quality:rolleyes:
Bloody Andrew Walker racks up the BOGS for Peel Thunder, does that mean hes a quality AFL player?
and fastest ever? over what distance, or just the fastest in every field?
dripping with biast, try again.

Well, if you have a better form and talent indicator for a ruckman who is only being held out of a side because of 2 ruckmen who are more developed and advanced, I'd like to hear about it.

Moran can move and jump but in terms of ruckman, Wood is a helluva way ahead of both of them. Has Dean Cox in him, BUCKETLOADS of talent I am still having nightmares when we took an interstate ruckman in Meesen over a supreme tap ruckman from west freaking Adelaide in Wood. Not that Meesen is bad, he just isn't in Wood's class.

Mail is Wood is definately on the market. I know one club hunting him very hard but will wait til official season end.

Dont be surprised if Tigers make a big offer as well.

Any of the three would be a step in the right direction for Collingwood, who really have no #1 ruckman. Bryan has a contract but I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone at season's end. Richards is picking up but is still a netballer.

According to this (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,22336965%255E19746,00.html), Wood is not out of contract.

Wood remains in contract, but appears to have been overtaken by 2006 No.4 draft pick Matthew Leuenberger.

oh if you want some players with hot vfL form we can offer you krakeour and Pat Bowden. they're gOLD

Richmond would be basing a trade deal on AFL form, as would all clubs.

Fair point, I wonder why there is so much talk surrounding him then? Just a beat-up?

There isn't a big gap between all of them. Moran has a showed a heap of promise and is VERY FAST. He got 2.77 in the state screaning a few years ago which was faster than Danyle Pearces effort. He's 201 cm, ruckman height as well. Hasn't been given much opportunity this year though. Why is Wood so clear cut in front? Because he has played a few more games than Moran and Meese? When Meese went up against Brisbane, Wood and Meese had a good battle and Meese wasn't too shabby against him- he might've even taken the honours in that duel.

He hasn't indicated that he wants to leave, but it is conceivable he could request a trade to get more opportunities.

Wood would be the best target, but he's contracted so will cost too much
Moran is out of contract at the end of the year so we could get him in the PSD for nothing, or leverage against the risk of losing him for nothing to pay under the odds.

Would put both ahead of Meesen

Bowden is 26, Krakeour is 24.
Moran is 20, and as we all know big players take time to develop.

Yeah i guess getting a Rising Star Nom, having 21 touches and 10 marks on debut, then successfully tagging Nathan Buckley the next week is somthing to turn a blind eye at :o

So many teams out there looking for good rucks, they'll be putting the word out to try and unsettle things, try and convince the player that a move would be in their best interest.
