View Full Version : Supporter superstitions?
Yay I thought of a thread.. :)
I have had many over the years, probably cause I'm silly! :p
For instance when I'm watching a game I tend to flex my wrists or ankles in a particular direction according to which direction we kick to.
Or if I have a cough I only cough into my right or left hand, again depending on which way we kick!
And sometimes just being out of the room works too. Or maybe my brother just doesn't like me! Who knows.. it's all good. :)
Do you guys have any superstitions on game day or during the game that you follow?
Boo you changed my word! :(

If the opposition's theme song gets in my head before a match we're in trouble.
Also, if I'm watching it on TV, the game momentum often swings when someone new walks into a room. If it swings against us I find myself telling them to leave the room.

The reason for edit now has me interested..... which "S" word is it and where was it used..... could change the entire feel and meaning of the post! :p
Oh, as for superstitions.... I have been known to take my left sock off if I am at home watching on the TV during a close game. I did it once and we won a close in the '90's... can't remmber the exact year... hence the start of a wierd, but quaint tradition/superstition.
yep i get hot chips and a hotdog

Oh.. my post was originally about unicorns and rainbows, but Phil changed the word so now it's this! :(
OMG.. I forgot to mention! My brother and I were solely responsible for the victory in the 2001 preliminary final against Port Adelaide!
We were playing pool at a friends house and my brother was beating me the whole day.. and it was in the last quarter, it didn't look like Hawthorn were going to do anything. THEN I won a game and Hawthorn got a goal! After a couple of my balls went in, my brother and I picked up on the fact that Hawthorn began kicking goals. Soooooo my brother started losing on purpose, hitting his balls in. AND WE WON.. all thanks to me and my brother, and maybe a little Hawthorn! :p

Do you and your brother wanna go play 8-ball on Saturday afternoon? One stipulation... your brother loses everygame he plays!

Wear my hawks jumper every day that they play, even if i cannot get to the game/watch it on tv..... it can get a little awkward at times although i tend not to miss any games!
