If we are in front or at least right in it at half time, we will win. Simple as that.

9 times out of 10 we will win if we are behind at quarter time.

Were the best last quarter team in the league but that doesnt mean a thing if your first three quarters havent put you in the position to win

Spot on Phil. The starts are really starting to annoy me.I dont know what they do in the warm up,but it isnt working. If we can be with them early, then we will win.We will absorb the pressure early and run away with it.Last weeks loss will sting the boys and they will bounce back.

It's always the case in finals..the first 5-10 mins will be frantic. We just have to settle quickly and try and get one on the board early (I'm thinking a buddy goal would be good), and just absorb that pressure from them and we will be right.

sorry westhawk just realised that you said the exact same thing about absorbing the pressure lol my bad. Looking forward to the usual push and shove at the opening bounce, hopefully they do something stupid and we get a free kick in the goal square...that'd be a nice start.

Maybe it's a tactic.

Puts the other team in a lazy mindset and we go all out for the rest of the game.

It's worked more often than it hasn't

I think more than anything we need to have at least one win before finishing this season, just so the boys know how to win a final and be motivated entering next season. JUST ONE FINAL is all we need! But two, three or four is nice too.. :)

we need this win more than anything.. it is very important that we beat the crows, we must beat them they treated us like kids last time and sydney did the exact same thing to us..

if we are to improve next year then we must take a stand now...

we must and i keep stressing must get our repsect back from the crows........

i think it has a lot to do with mindset. You always hear the players and coaches just about declaring they do not need to start well because they believe they can run over the top of every team in the competition. It has worked so far but gee its going to come under immense pressure in finals, as finals games are just about won and lost in the first 10-15 minutes

We started great against the Swans, we kicked the first goal

SYDNEY proved that if we a behind in the 1st qtr by 3 to 4 goal they will run all over us like good finals sides do so we need to be 3 to 4 goals up at qtr time if we are any chance of beating the crows as they proved last week they came out in the 1st qtr and smashed the pies and the pies werent able to recover !
if we are down 2 to 3 goals against the crows in the opening term then its game over !!!

The midfield must impose themselves from the first bounce, be desperate to get there hands on the ball and back their run from the outset. Skill errors killed us last week, especially out of the backline.
If we're within a couple of kicks going into the break you will see the Mighty Hawks explode and set up the win. Must be mentally strong and not let the Crows dominate us like the swans did last week.
