But that stupid Emo crap song that Channel 10 has selected for the finals series 2007 promo they are running. How in the hell can a pansy shite song like Thanks for the memories... or for the sake of their txt language .. thx fr th mmrs even be fit to be show with images of our great game. It's a fate I wouldn't even wish on the slime....

No worries, i'm not even emo so it doesn't make sense when people abuse me for my nickname (it happens:()
As for the music however, I don't mind certain songs of that genre. I also like country music, juaz, opera, folk,alternative,garage,trance, jungle, hip-hop, r&B, and so on and so forth......Of course there is always going to be bad music in all genres and usually those are the ones that i don't like (Some are just SO bad they become good), but yeah i don't not like anything because of it
NightFury, just on a side note....do you like punk rock at all ? ie NoFX, Blink182, Greenday kinda style music? cos if you don't then yeah, it's understandable that you don't like emo thats all.
but then again I would classify Fallout Boy under punk rock moreso than i would emo.

Like the song and the band (and I would be quite far from Emo...for starters I ain't dying any hair black :)) and I do believe that the title was a pisstake on text speak...then again people only believe what they choose to ;)

I am a massive Metal (all genres of metal) fan as well as alternative and punk/hardcore.... Im a little old school with my punk stuff... I really like Henry Rollins solo & Black Flag, Dead Kennedys. madball as well as NOFx and Fu Manchu.... I dont really hate Green Day & Offspring but thats what I would hardly call punk.....
I teached guitar for some years and I like a lot of stuff..... but Metal/punk/alternative with some prog would be my favourites....
Emo music is vile
It's no where near as entertainting as this....

Awesome, I'm metal man myself, am slowly getting introduced by an older freind of mine about the classics like Black Sabbath Iron Maiden and stuff like that, but right now i'm actually listening to Aces High....Love the song but also the story behind it 'doomsday clock'/bay of pigs and all.. one storie my older brother tells me is that when i was 9 or so I used to go nuts (happy, smilling running round, air guitar) when he played 'can I play with madness)
But yeah love my metal.
I'm actually starting to learn guitar at he moment although the lessons on youtube are beginning to annoy me. but slowly getting the tune down ( kansas - dust in the wind)
PS; I would never throw wine at you.....that would be a waste lol.....a shoe maybe???.....nah your alright champ

some emo stuff is OK.
However, Fall Out Boy aren't an emo band. They are a punk-rock band with a pop flavour - they don't have anywhere near enough of the hardcore element
They were also around well before this emo craze took hold of todays youth
You can't just call any punk band that sings about emotions emo nor call a band emo just because the stereotype dig them

I think your beingrichj accusing people of ignorance if you think all punks bands that put emotion into there songs are labelled "emo'. After all, nearly every song ever written has emotion is some quantible form in it.

well, I didn't say putting emotion into songs, I said singing about emotions. Even still - pretty much every band, displays this characteristic. That's a large part of my point.
Whilst it could be assumed every band puts emotion into a song, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume people will comprehend the difference between a band singing about gloomy breakups and Butterfingers' Yo Mama

Whilst I respect the origins of grunge, I was more talking about the 325863465 lame bands that the fad spawns. It's similar with emo, but to a much lesser degree. You have some genuinely good bands which then leads to the commercialisation of the genre with plenty of bland bands pandering to the public.
