Interesting that Asif was deemed good enough to get the in the Test Team of the Year, but not win this award. I'm not trying to say that he deserved this award over Tait, just an observation. I would have thought if you are in the best 12 Test cricketers in the world, and you qualify for best emerging player (not sure what the criteria is, but, I notice he is the only other player mentioned in this forum) you would walk in the emerging player award?

Asif was a regular selection last season. Tait only became regular this season.

It would have been too controversial, even though he is clearly superior to Tait in every way

Actually mate you had to have played 15 ODI's or less to qualify, so Asif wasn't eligible.
He was up for it last year I believe. I'm not taking a side though, I love them both, Taity just a bit more so because he's an Aussie.
