Just under 50,000 tickets have been sold for the first semi final, an all Melbourne affair between Hawthorn and the Kangaroos.

The AFL released its official ticket sales update for week two of the 2007 Toyota AFL Finals Series as at 5pm Melbourne time on Wednesday.

Friday September 14
Second semi final, West Coast v Collingwood at Subiaco Oval - match sold out. This game will now be telecast live into Perth on the Seven Network.

Saturday September 15

Hawthorn supporters are coming out of the woodwork me thinks :thumbsu:

sweeeeeet - i was hoping to hear news like this!

The fact that a big crowd is order will likely draw even more to this game!!

I love watching footy with a HUGE crowd - and so does a guy who wears 23 for us too :D

Going by last weeks sales up to Wednesday;

Collingwood vs. Sydney - 44,000 (65,000)
Geelong vs. Kangaroos - 52,000 (77,500)

Statistically, we should draw 73,400 on Saturday...not bad considering the Kangaroos got smashed by 100+ points on the weekend.

Not to mention the fact that in theory we should get more neutral mcc and afl member walkups considering it is the only game in melbourne this weekend.

Cheers vanders, just bought my tickets in the Olympic stand, a couple bays across from our cheer squad (M57 I think).

Remember MCC members are just going to rock up on the day so that will add a bit to the crowd. Cannot wait!

AFL Members with Club Support for the comeptiting clubs should get priority to book tickets. My dad couldn't get my family all in same row (4 in Row R & 2 in Row S) They were nearly the last seats to. At least we got some =]. Go Hawks I hope we beat them. If some supprter from the non competing clubs tells me to shutup, I will give it to him. My voice is back & raring to go. One bad move from Vozzo & McLauren & their gonna get it!

We've supposedly got 9,000 MCC Hawk supporting members so hopefully the come out in force.

Just the general vibe feels like we're going to have alot of support at the game...which gives our players the best opportunity possible to win through to the Preliminary :thumbsu:

I think I have a fat!!! I love big crowds, and so does Buddy- am in M20 with a few Hawthorn mates so I hope that isn't where Roos supporters are. 70,000 would be absolutely brilliant!

I had a look and pretty much all premium seats have been sold apart from M32. Prime seats are only available on level 3 now, so it looks like if you want to book now you will be up in the nosebleed seats.
My estimate for the crowd: 67,000 due to bad weather

It just highlights how pathetic the issue with the Telstra Dome is. We’ll probably have 40,000+ fans at the game on Saturday, but probably only had just over half that at the Dome on Saturday.

Hawk fans need to support the club regardless of the venue.

I went to the cats roos last week and the members looked like it was going to burst. I am an MCC member (was in a box on Sunday) and several of my hawks/mcc mates who take kids have elected to buy public seats to ensure somewhere to park their butt.

Having said that, the walk up rate in the members appears to be huge this finals series, regardless of who is playing. The new facilities are so good that many members just seem to want to come along to watch.

If it is as packed in the MCC as it was Sunday, and there are already 50 k seats sold, the place will be rocking

So how much earlier did you get there last weekend, and still managed to get a seat ok. In a perfect world, I don't wanna be on level 4, but i've got a guest with me, so can't get too precious. Do you think rocking up at 6pm is early enough for the MCC section?

I arrived at the bounce, but was in a private box just for that game. The whole members up to the back of the top deck was chockers.

If I was aiming at a decent seat Sat night, I would turn up one hour before and secure a seat then go get a meal

Other option is to contact the MCC about trying to get a table in one of the dining areas. If you are successful, you are allocated a reserved seat on level one. Check details with the MCC.

For finals - the dome has it all over the G

The probelm being the HUGE MCC and AFL reserves at the MCG.

A premium seat at the dome is on the wing on level two - for not much mre than you pay for that seat in the H&A

By contrast huge numbers of premium seats are locked away at the MCG - its the biggest crock in melbounre - did anyone see all the emply seats around the MCC reserve on tuesday night ?

With that type of figure, I hope we get an atmosphere like last week. It was a great feel for a crowd of that size. Hope we get a similar proportion of Hawks supporters there. I'm taking along 5 neutral supporters which I am sure have converted.

Go The Hawks. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
