View Full Version : Wilbur and Tredders.
Two more games to go. We desperately need to win the first of these two, or theres only one more left.
If Wilbur and Tredds have crackers.........i feel we can go the distance. I know they are only two players, but experience and toughness counts. Throw Wakes in, nothing's impossible.

He's shone all year. But if he can pull a couple of gems out of his battered body, we are looking..........pretty good.
Tredders is also squatting, ready for a pounce.
Agree with ya, BWST. Wilson and Tredrea need to lead from the front - hard tackling, hard running, spoils - as our motto this year says "Whatever it takes". I don't think they will be required to win the match single handedly, but their endeavour on the day (whether it be the PF, or hopefully, the GF) will give the other players a real boost. Hopefully all the senior players will take a leaf out of PB's book and have a red hot go next game.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that Tredders will come out firing on Saturday week...that second half performance was sublime, even if he didn't register much on the score board...:thumbsu:
Wilbur and Tredrea are natural leaders, but we know they'll at least give it their all, even if the bodies aren't willing.
The key, IMO, is to see Pearce and Junior step up. Both have been disappointing of late (Junior one of the handful to be down on last years form). If they can step up (and Motlop kick accurately ;) ) we'll win I think.
Both of them going and we're hard to stop - as you can rely on Salopek now, PB does the job in the centre when switched there. Kane is doing great shut down jobs. Boak's doing as well as can be hoped.
Pearce and SB on fire are the difference between a midfield that others can cover and one they can't.

Actually if Motlop and Ebert and Tredrea and Westhoff and Shaun can kick straight. They all had misses and SB missed probably the easiest one.
IMO SBurgoyne and Pearce are not quite 100% and the week off should do them a load of good. Same goes for Motlop who nearly didn't play and Ebert who got injured during the game.
EDIT: and Brogan who only showed about 40-50% of his usual form. Lots of improvement left.

The inspiration these guys command is awesome. Just having them there means so much, even if the output is down. It's about far more than what they do with the ball in their hands....
I'm no expert but to me half of the reason Napoleon's as good as he is is that he gets so much gee-up from his captain standing alonsgide him. Tredders seems to genuinely revel in the Hoff taking the limelight. A true leader.
Wilbur is magic to watch. How that battered body just keeps coming back for more is stunning. What a great role model for younger players - "yeah, by all means go get your own ball, but you'll have to get it off me first"....

Beautiful post........made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

I'm with ya Andre. Pearcey and Junior Burgs have been very quiet. Both match winners.
Crows supporters on this site call Senior, Junior Burgers a poor mans Mcleod. Give me one of these two champions over Mcleod.......chuck in Pearcy....suck it up Crows.

Andre has hit the nail on the head again. Pearce and JB are the two that aren't quite where they can be at the moment. For most of the year, JB has compensated by scoring goals, but next week would be the perfect occasion for him to pull out a 25+ possession game with a swag of clearances and tackles.
Pearce just looks like half of the player he can be at the moment. Confidence seems well down. He's not working anywhere near hard enough to get in the play and create opportunities for himself and others. In many ways his current form/approach is in stark contrast to Sal's.
As Andre pointed out, if these two decide to bring their A+ games to the table, it takes our midfield group to another level.
