I was at the pub, and yes I was very drunk by the end of the game!
I was pissed off, disappointed and so many more unspeakable things...

But as I began to sober up, I thought to myself...

**** me, that was a bloody good season none the less. Now I don't need to explain why we've done so well this year in the circumstances, we've heard it all before. But from day dot in Round 1 we were on the back foot.
Honestly, things can't get any worse, and 2008 can only be better.

So well done to every bloke who pulled the jersey on this year, you all busted your guts day in day out. Enjoy your 8 weeks off, go get yourselves right and come back knowing, that in 200 odd days we'll all still be here supporting the John Worsfold and his West Coast Eagles. As we try to come back from one of the most demoralising seasons off the field! 2008 will be a beauty, I can feel it...and I'll be their for every single kick, handball, mark of tackle as we go hard and make it to the big one, with or without Chris Judd.

So now that I'm sober, I go to bed content and proud, knowing that we are capable of greater things...and I can't wait for Round 1 2008 at the West Coast Eagles, where you know their's never gunna be a dull moment! :thumbsu:

ok I lie...maybe still a liillllte pissed!

ALL things concidered yep I was proud of the players last night and after a season from HELL we have seriously added depth to our moral fibre and mental strenth of the group, especially the "Back bone" and developing players.

Little Mac as I call him did very well last night - every touch I saw went to advantage and he threw his body into the packs.

Le Cras handled himself very well and Rosa also kicked a pressure goal just before normal full time.

Pridis was unbelievable for someone completing his first full season of AFL and has played less than 30 games.

Chick was also in our best players and did an important job, a part of me wants Chick to play on but another see's the next generation come through and dominate.

In fact our backline played extremely well and Glass was a standout.

The biggest dissappointment was the selection of Hansen and he didn't last 10 minutes.....shocking call from the player/match panel to play him and probably cost us the game playing -1 all night.

Well done boys and next season I just want to see a 100% fit Eagles take on 100% fit Geelong at the MCG.

You blokes are seriously running out of room to pack these talented midfielders in. Surely you can send at least one of em up to Sydney?

A second truly gallant effort that just fell short. I hope that things are restored to normal next season with our players having less injuries. The team just didn't seem to have enough energy at the finish, so as a result the margin was greater than it probably should have been.

Very proud supporter here, 2 brave finals performances; to get so close to Port @ AAMI (who we hadn't beaten there in 9 years) and then to take Coll to Extra time with the class we had missing, just proud:thumbsu:

Gotta say the future looks rosy, maybe 2007 was the year we had to have - very proud of the boys to go as far as they did! If someone had of told me we would end the regular season in equal 2nd when Cuz plays only a handful of games, Kerr misses 6, Juddy wasn't seen as himself in the 2nd half of the year, Hansen misses almost 1/2 a season, Embley misses about that, Butler the whole year, Fletcher most of the year and injures to a whole heap of other fringe players.

What has come of those injuries though is we have developed some fantastic young players (Priddis, Hurn, Lecca, McNamara, Schofield, Brown) who would have been unlikely to get a look in if we had a fully fit side

Just please no off field incidents in the pre-season, my heart can't take it anymore

I can say this now.. without a shade of doubt.

If we don't have any major injury set backs next year.. we will play in the grand final.

Good effort last night boys. It was a hard way to lose, but i'm proud you fought till the end even though most of you were out of steam.

Bring on 08!! Carn EAGLES!

A year is a long time.

Next year will be a whole new adventure and with judd hopefully fit, cousins and kerr back and fletcher back to his best we will be nearly unbeatable in the midfield.

Our defense is one of the best because of glass, selwood and bones. If waters works on his disposal then he will be one of our best players.

Good to see good quality support even in defeat.

I watched the game and believe (un-played games excluded) that it was the best game I have seen all year.
The standard of play and the pressure from both sides was extraordinary.
I almost had a seizure as the scores were tied up and thought your boys would tear us a new one in extra time but could only watch in amazement as the Pies took the game by the neck.

A fantastic game despite the result from you perspective but a real corker none the less. Your team really need to be congratulated on a real gutsy effort despite crucial injuries both before and during the game.

I was really impressed to see Cox go out of his way to congratulate Buckley, a really sporting gesture and great vision for the camera's.

I watched the game at a night club in Rugby League territory and the fantastic excitement the tight game generated with the League crowd obviously won a few converts...

Well Done and bad luck.

Thanks mate. Unfortunately some of your other supporters have not been anywhere near as sportsmanlike in victory but oh well, that's life.

How GOOD was the game? I was enjoying every minute of it. Even in the first half where the wetness was just making players fly everywhere, balls continually go OOB and almost no goals scored in the 1st qtr! Then extra time! wow.

But yeah, unfortunately i knew when we hit extra time that it was unlikely that we'd win. Our team just wasn't fit enough to run out another 2 short quarters. But they fought it out to the end and made us proud.
tbh i think we were very stiff not to have beat port last week and its really amazing what difference 1 goal has made.

Most likely you will get your asses handed to you next week but congrats on the win. :D

That was certainly one of the best games I have ever watched.
This could be slightly infuenced by "who won" but colleagues who have no love for either team all agree fairly unanimously that it was an outstanding game to watch and a great spectacle.

Not that there's any shame in that. Geelong are an awesome team this year.

Im looking forward to next year, if hardly anyone is injured its going to be interesting as there will be a fair few players fighting for a place in the team which in turn puts pressure on players to preform therefore resulting in good performances. That kinda sounded silly but I know what I meant :p

Bring on 2008! and F*** off injuries go savage another club:thumbsu:

Yep, first message I sent after the game was of this notion. VERY proud, even though we lost. We tried and tried and tried. A lot of players got a lot of games this year they may not normally have gotten, great for the future!

Carn Eagles, the window is still well and truly open, bring home some more silverware in '08!
