Pleasant surprise I got when I got home... note the sarchasm here...
Geelong lost to the Doggies by 12 points after leading the contest at Kardinia Park by 40 midway through the second term, according to what I read from SeinDude on another thread.
To wit, here's what our dear friend had to say...

What a very disappointing result for us today to lose to the Western Buldogs after leading by 40 points in the 2nd term. Like the previous 3 weeks, our young kids are finding it hard to play with the same intensity for a whole quarter at a time which is proving to be very costly!!
Oh, so true-- but to me, this seems to be one of those results that can galvanise a season for good or bad.
I know the young players can be guilty of making the types of mistakes that go hand-in-hand with on-the-job training, but you have to wonder what's going to happen to their collective confidence after a result like this, losing the game in the manner in which they did, and doing so against a team lower than them on the ladder (albeit barely so, going into today's contest) and one which they should be capable of beating.
Is anyone with me on this-- and where do we go from here? Somehow, I sense the season slowly slipping away, and we're not even at the halfway point of the campaign.
Cheers,
William
