View Full Version : Young guns of 2007
LeCras, Hurn, Priddis, Rosa, McNamara, Brown, Mackenzie, McKinley, Schofield.
This would have to be a huge positive from '07. All these boys got game time and they all showed they can play AFL.
Obviously I have been very impressed with Priddis (already a star), LeCras, Hurn and Rosa, but it was good to see the other boys get a run too.
Looking forward to them getting more game time in 2008. :thumbsu:

Thats how I'd rate them this year. I think McNamara is going to be a star. Just needs to put on some muscle.
You seem to have forgotten the early part of hte year where LeCras struggled.

2) Hurn

MacNamara really impressed me last night and his other game. Put some time in at the gym, maybe some more fitness he could be really good.
People forget Mitch Browns start to the year. Afterwards he got OP but no doubt for mine he will play 10-20 games next year

I think McKinley should be higher than Mackenzie personally. Showed a bit in WAFL towards the end of the year, and was unlucky (or not fit enough) to get another game. If he signs, big future.
Lots of positives in terms of youngsters though. Browns first game was a ripper.
Who is your head recruiting guy?
WE WANT HIM!!!!!!!!
You guys have a great list with a good blend of experience and youth.
FWIW, i think McNamara looks a class act to me.
Of course he has plenty to learn, but he really looks to have a touch of class.
You will be back to challenge once again next year

Very hard to rate McKinley or MacKenzie, simply because we haven't seen enough of them yet. I'm not suggesting that we think about getting rid of them (or Spangher, who we haven't see AT ALL yet !) just that it is hard to rate them . Le Cras and Rosa are just beginning to show their skills so we should give McKinley anf MacKenzie a bit more time.
I cant wait to see Schofield with a preseason under his belt. Is going to be awesome
For those wondering. Matt Spangher will be Embers young star of 2008
Last 2 years ive picked Matt Rosa and Mark LeCras, both have been successes. Next year is the year of Spangles. Spangher is a bloody unique player. Hard to compare him to anyone.
A true CHB. Hes a magnificent spoiler. Has a tremendous reach. He is a pure athlete. Moves like Staker does except he has a brain :D. His disposal is good. He marks the ball well. I dont see any weaknesses other then his injury problems. Hes ahead of E-Mac for a defensive gig I think. He will get some games next year and shine

I agree that if he gets his chance next year, he will impress. Was getting some real form up in the WAFL before he did his shoulder (correct?) and probably would have got a game considering our injury woes. Unfortunately, he was apart of that.
Has great hair too :thumbsu:

No, I remember that. But the fact that he has stepped up since then and filled the void in our forward fifty was awesome.
The competition for that spot in our forward line has been pretty intense. With Armstrong and Morton both trying to secure it. I think with the injuries in our midfield, Priddis was always assured of a spot.

Yes I agree.
I do hope J-Mac bulks up also, will be a gun I feel.
Brown will hopefull add more games to his belt and who could forget Priddis, Hurn, Lecras and Rosa.
Remarkable. :thumbsu:

You'd hope you're right, otherwise this time next year Kirke_special will probably dig this post up:rolleyes:
Personally i think its going to be a tussle between him and E-Mac for who gets a spot in the side next year
