This year with the retirments of Anthony Koutoufides and Matthew Lappin we have lost 529 games worth of experience.
Koutoufides (278), Lappin (251)

Leaves us with our most experienced players as;
Lance Whitnall (216 games, 28 yrs)
Nick Stevens (192, 27yr 8mth)
Jason Saddington (160, 27yr 10 mth)
Ryan Houlihan (157, 25yr 7mth)
Brendan Fevola (142, 26yr 7mth)
Heath Scotland (138, 27yr 1mth)

And after that only Bret Thornton over 100 games (109)

Do we need more experience on our list?

Hahaha.

It is good to see very thread turn into a Judd one.
He isn't the most experienced guy out there in terms of games but he has the experience of being there before.

Of course we need experience!

We've got one of, if not THE, youngest list in the league! Absolutely experience is what we need to improve, and that's why it's important not to panic right now. We have highly-rated but young and immature talent in Gibbs, Murphy, Walker, Kennedy, etc. Give them time, let them get that experience, and we'll be looking a lot stronger. I think the raw materials are there for a very strong Carlton side in a few years. We don't need to import experience, we need to live it.

A gun ruckman and a superstar from Perth would accelerate that improvement somewhat... but it will happen, regardless. We're going the right way!

This morning I was writing "The best of Chicago" on a CD I copied. After I finished writing the title on the CD I noticed that I accidentally wrote "The best of Judd".

This is not a joke. It will rule my life until he signs with a club.

I'm sure it will.

I don't know what's more disturbing.

1: Copying a Chicago CD (Just for the record, the CD wasn't for me).:D

2: Judd trade stressing me out.:D

The way things are going we might not have a draft pick until the third round.:D.

At the end of the day it's only a game.:o

Experience on its own isnt worth much. Experience and talent and an ability to be a strong performer is worth a hell of a lot. Unfortunately Carlton hasnt had good experience since 2002-2003 and has been relying on others, even bringing it in, since then.

Stevens and Scotland have come in to provide that and are AFL quality. Fevola and Houlihan are home-grown and provide experience.

The rest of our older players for next year are finding it tough to maintain the quality required at AFL level.

I have a strange feeling that Carlton might give up too much for Judd. It could come back and haunt the club. My ideal trade (Other than PSD) would be Kennedy, Bower and pick 20 (It won't happen)

A more realistic trade that I might be happy with would be pick 3, 20 and Bower.

We should be happy If we can keep pick 1 and FEV. Murphy, Gibbs, Stevo, Simpson, Carrazzo and Judd to Fev = 100 goals.

pick 1 isnt going anywhere. i would be more pissed if we get rid of Kennedy than Fev

if Fev goes, expect Hartlett or even Edwards to take on FF even though they have shown nothing i expect them to be groomed for that position

Froget experience when Kreuzer taps it down to Gibbs who then gives to Murphy who then gives to Carazzo who then gives to Simpson who links up with Judd who runs inside 50 and kicks truly with Fevola sheparding on the goal line and Setenta celebrating like a mad man while Stevens and Scotland are both having a breather on the bench as we are up by 80 points against Collingwood in the Qualifying Final 2008 at the MCG in front of 105,000.

I'm not a huge fan of Hartlett, but Edwards is a ripper of a player.

Woke up. Got out of Judd. Went and had a long hot Judd. Had a bowl of Juddflakes for breakfast, then caught the Judd to work.
