View Full Version : What does Ratts want?
even though the board members will vote etc on what to do with the Judd scenario
but we also got to see what Ratts wants to do!! i guess we dont know the full story until we hear the thoughts of our coach!!
does he want Judd
does he want to trade Fev, Kennedy or Bower
does he want to lose pick 3
these are definately questions that Ratts needs to ask himself!!!

If Swann's doing the speaking on behalf of the club I'm sure it's on behalf of Ratts also. So I'd say he wants Judd and if Swann's come out publicly saying we'll have a crack then I reckon they'd have to pretty much resign to losing pick 3.

Swan does the talking coz he is the head honcho pretty much!! Pratt just stays in the wings!!
the board meeting tonight could also involve the thoughts of Ratts.
and as he is highly respected his views may change the approach!!

Too true. Although surely Ratts would not want to let Judd slip...couldn't imagine it...I just did imagine it and that's a scary predicament LOL
Bring on the meeting...

I'll just say, while Icke and Swan are very important during this time, it is Ratten who will get Judd to Carlton. Ratten's no fuss honest demeanour will be our "Trump Card". The glitter of Collingwood won't have any extra appeal to Judd, the Hawks are the danger. Good list, coach and board but not much to trade with draft pick wise.
Carlton have proabably the biggest up-side going forward and I think, no I hope this is what will lure Judd to Carlton.

.....and that is why I reckon Carlton are a fair way ahead of every other club. We have picks, and we have players.

There are other issues relating to Hawthorn as well, they have done their dash in the eyes of other recruiting departments. Pelchen has left sour grapes all over the league. Look at the Blues last year, we refused to deal with Hawthorn.
W.C and CFC have always had respect for each other and have always shared a good competitive relationship.
I will say it again, it all depends on Ratten. He is the key. a long with Steve (2008 Captain)

Good point BlueFeaver.
As I have previously said, I am starting to get to the point where I will be surprised if he doesn't play for Carlton next year.

He wants Judd, but not at a cost that could come back and haunt the club in the future.
Ratts rates Morton very highly, so maybe trading pick 3 isn't in his thoughts.
He would be happy to part with Kennedy or Bower, but not Fev.:)

I love Josh, but he might be the player who needs to be
Sacrificed.

i just want to see Josh play under ratts for 20 games next year and then decide if we get rid of him!!
enormous talent which needs a little nurturing from development coaches and BANG!!! will explode one day and show his worth!!

I agree, but we must realise that giving up something of value is the only way to get Judd.
Trading our picks will come back and haunt us.

.....and that is why I reckon Carlton are a fair way ahead of every other club. We have picks, and we have players.Once a club has a second first round pick then we're not ahead. There's so much competition for Judd that, due to market forces, clubs may end up paying way over the odds and give up heaps desperate for that 2nd top 5 or top 10 pick to get the deal done. Rather than us doing that put pick 3 out there. We may get over the odds for it. That would lift our playing stocks, if that was to happen, as we might get a terrific player as well as keeping the rest of our own list. Be worthwhile taking advantage of other clubs's possible desperation.

and Pratttt;)
Judd thought about his "life" not "football"..thus the reason he left the WCE.
..Judd will think about his future and money..and Pratt will set him up for the future...Pratt is the 3rd richest man in Australia folks, he'll get the job done..
And i'm not saying Judd is money-hungry..but he'll be thinking about his future..
IMO ratten would want to get judd and keep fev, but more importantly he would be wanting a KP defender, not a flanker playing KP but an actual KP defender
if we don't get judd we still get an A grade midfielder (stevens) back for 2008.

spot on hawthorn have a number of issues going on at the club
although judd did not say it, part of the reson for leaving was due to the off field matters at wce.
i seriously doubt he would go to another club with off field matters.
