Anyone else catching this?

First episode is out now. Thought I create this thread for anyone watching, we can discuss the show.

Great to see aussie and fellow Will Jiu Jitsu black belt George Sotiropolous (http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?FighterID=11702) make the show. I hope he does well.

I've seen the first episode and it was refreshing to hear an Aussie accent.

Hopefully he does us proud.

Mag and I train with the crew that started out with George in BJJ. I know how he goes, but I don't want to give it away.

Well that sucked... IMO the eye incident effected the outcome. Tommy got warned twice before he eventually caught George in the eye. George should have taken more time to recover, I still don't think its the type of thing you can recover quickly from. I think George was pissed off and wanted to go back and try kick the shit out of Tommy.

He should have definitely taken more time...hell, take the whole 5 minutes. Tommy rocked him hard and finally finished a fight. It will be an interesting final come Saturday. Will hunt the torrent out come Sunday night/Monday morning to see how it all shapes up.

Yeah very dissapointed. Although I think that George was put off by that poke in the eye, I also think he was a bit out of sorts and nervous which is very unlike George. He just didn't look like the usual intense George you usually see. Tommy is a big tough bloke, but I think George is better and was a bit unlucky. Credit to tommy though. I would have really liked to see Mac vs George in the final.

Also guys I have found a nice torrent site for wrestling (but has MMA) that seems to have things up real fast and has no upload/download ratios, invites, bs rules, etc. You just need to register.

You all should check the finale out if only for the Guida/Huerta main event. Rollins/Koppenhaver was supposed to be a great fight as well but I haven't seen it. Not surprisingly Danzig won the final. His skill and experience were too much for the bigger and stonger Speer. George won his fight convincingly as well, choking out Billy Miles in 90 seconds. I'm hoping the UFC uses him to run a show in Australia like they used Bisping in the UK.

The next season has Forrest and Rampage set to be the coaches with Dana promising some big changes to the show. Rampage will make the show a must-watch.

They also mentioned on the show that Sherk has been stripped of the lightweight title because of the failed drug test and Penn/Stevenson is now for the vacant title at UFC 80 instead of an interim title.

yeah Nitro, just after I posted that I realised :(

As drew said I better start uploading! Dunno what critical ratios are but I'm 0.1ish!

Since downloading the TUF finale I'm seeding that.

Speaking of which, it was a pretty good finale, except for the Mac vs Tommy which was expected. I actually would have loved to seen Mac vs George which I think would have been a much better fight.

George was great dominating Billy Miles too. Great stuff.

But Clay Guida and Roger Hueta was nigh on the fight of the year. Brilliant fight. The 155's is such an awesome division.

We have been treated to some cracking free shows from Zuffa this year...The season 6 finale, fight night 10 & 11.

I think .5 is when they ban you, but they give you a 2 week warning if you fall that low.

Is there anywhere one could watch the main event without downloading the full show?

sure is:

Check MMATko- http://www.mmatko.com/

It's a sweet site, always has streaming video's of the fights soon after they happen. I do prefer to download the whole show, but this is the next best thing.

Great site Magnum,thanks for that.
George will have ample opurtunity in the future to prove himself, regardless on whether the eye-poke played a role or not.If he is anywhere near as good as the coaches and the other fighters make him out to be,he will be a permanent fixture in the UFC for years to come.

He is very very good on the ground, many of the guys I train with have rolled him and he is a monster. Very intense and never stops, he is a cardio machine and has a Black Belt from John Will in BJJ. His stand up is greatly improved and he is quite a good boxer. A few more years in a good camp and he will muscle up and be a definate force in the UFC I think.

Spot on. A couple of years of Greco-Roman,not so much for the take-downs or ground control, but to bulk up and get that wrestler's strength and he will be ready to climb the ranks. GO GEORGE!
