Ok ok... everyone know's we're one defender short of being a real powerhouse team. We need a guy who can take one of the opposition forwards and tear him a new one - alla Darren Glass and Matty Scarlett style. Can Zac live up to it? Is he the man for the job? Discuss...

If he has done what I have heard he has done during this year, and if it is true that a senior player has stood him up for it, telling him in no uncertain terms that the club would be better off without him, then Zac is not worth a zac (5 cents in the old money)
I truely hope what has been told to me is baseless and bulls**t because I think he can play and he is needed as a player.
I guess we will know in a little over 12 days..assuming trade week is the week after the Grand Final.

What did you hear he has done? I'm curious... I haven't heard anything about it... and yes, I'll respect that it's a rumour and only that.

Would it be feasible for Clarko to rotate dawson gilham and the birchster?
I'm itching to see what zac is capable of now that hes 10 kgs heavier.
I've noticed (i play basketball and have also recently put on about 10kgs) that I am much more physical at rebounds now and instead of just thinking about the ball and body placement, I'm finally able to body most opponents out of the way with ease.

I have heard he's Clarksons little project.
I have also heard he has put on some muscle and is very much in the mix, when he played last season he was a runt of a kid and was a boy in a mans game, i don't think thats the case anymore.
If other teams were to go by his 2006 performance we couldn't trade him for anything so i think AC has a point to prove with him.
I am sure he'll be fine.
I cant wait to see what Zac is capable of next year. Ive always thought he had shown a bit as a player, and now that he has the size to back it up... I think he will be our permanent FB by the middle of next season.

Cant see him being traded. We need tall defenders more than most.
Would like to see him make it but he still has a long way to go. He is one fo the very few on our list that does not mind body contact.
He does come across a little dopey so if he has done something dumb as has been alluded it would not surprise.

why rotate birch i think, and hope he can wreak havoc on a wing next year, use his awesome skills to deliver the rock to buddy roughie and willow
its gonna be a long wait till next year guys

You couldn't trade him becoz no one would want him, except maybe Kangas and The Bombers coz they love rejects!
I'd rather have Johnathan Hay than Dawson....a lot of u would prob wanna kill me haha but Dawson is really crap!

I wonder if all of you on here calling for his head have seen him play this year or are just basing on last year.
You have to remember that last year he was thrown in the deep end with a pretty average midfield letting the ball inside 50 far to easily.
Next year when he plays (bookmark this iff youd like) he will be behind a midfield that can beat/breakeven with any in the comp and will have guys like Gilham and Croad down there to help out. Furthermore the kid has put on 10kg's this year and with a decent preseason could be almost as big as Croad himself
Add to that his fletcher like arms and being quicker than Gilham, I think people should let him play a few games next year before passing judgement.

I hope you are right HH. Zac is what we need. Given his history every team will try and isolate Zac. Late in the season teams started to wake up that Gilham is also vulnerable in one on ones.
I reckon Zac can do most things well except read the ball in the air if this improves we have a player.

The one main thing stopping Dawson is confidence!
IMO he won't make it at AFL level....wether u agree or not...thats just my oppinion, i would love for him to come good and play some great footy so he does stay...but i really don't think he will...

If Gilham can put 10kgs on he will still be way ahead of Zac im afraid.Zac seems to get lost and i ask the question why didnt he replace Gilham this year when he started to struggle?Dont rate him, never have.
