So it's a Geelong-Port Granny.

Yep, looks that way.
So it's a Geelong-Port Granny.
Its a pretty average game, the commentators on chanel 10 are making it sound even more boring, Ive tried listening to the radio whilst watching, but the sneaky pricks at ch10 have delayed it by about 10secs!
Geelong should have it in the bag this year!

Go the Cats :thumbsu:
Port to me have always come across as an extremely arrogant side.
Port will beat Geelong next week.
Ive said it for the whole 2nd half of the year.

They were gone as soon as they lost to the Cats by 106 points. Very hard to come back from a loss like that.
This has the feeling of a home and away game - no vibe.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Cats next week by 6 goals. They are so much better than anything being displayed today it's laughable.
It is a little dull, come on kangas lift your game.
Port will be tought to beat next week, they have won a premiership against a more fancied oponent before, have experience.
How good has Chaplin been.

For the sake of a good game, C'mon Roos! :o

Only difference between the two sides is kicking for goal
Port have been freakishly accurate.
Roos have missed some absolute shockers (Edwards x 2).
Kangas kick straight and it's a 2 goal difference.
Extremely boring game. Dont think I will even bother with the second half.
For the sake of a good game, C'mon Roos! :o
For the sake of Port under 39.5 come on Roos :p
Not gonna happen - $$$ gone :D

Yeah Chappy has had a great year. Part of our group of 2nd tier players that are fast becoming top tier.
Still plenty of life in this game boys, don't worry about that. I'd love for us to run away with it, but 2 quick goals to the Roos and I'll be nervous.

Well it'd be a great game next week if Port do win today.
They will have the edge over us knowing they outplayed us a few weeks back.
I must agree this is a very boring final, hopefully North get a few back to liven the game up a bit.

Without being disrespectful to the Roos, how did they finish top 4? They are an average team at best and this year they have performed way and beyond their potential.

I started this topic only in the hope that the roos will come back and I'll have egg on my face.

This is a pretty disappointing effort, I really wanted them to win today.
Deadset the Roos are gawn.
Last night was the real grand final... thankfully, I was there.
I will definitely be supporting Geelong next week if it's against Port Adelaide.

They just can't compete against top sides in a Finals atmosphere. maybe a year or two off being a real dominant side, although I think alot of people are underestimating them based purely on their Finals performance.

Needed to kick straight, if they did then they would still be in this match. Had a few pretty good passages from defence to attack, just not finishing it off.
Geelong v Port will be a tough game.

Wow, the Roos fans must be gutted with this effort.

Kangas haven't kicked a goal since the first quarter. Port getting an extra training drill in now before Saturday.

terrible end to the season for the roos given the stakes
if only the umpires could kick some goals for them like last week ;)
edit: umpires give em one and he misses!
I just saw Tredrea 'bow' to the crowd, he comes across as very smug, I dont like him, I hope they get smashed next week, he just gave me reason to hate port! ........Go Cats, its your time!

The Bloods did it in '05. The Cats will do it in '07. :thumbsu:

Tredrea has a right to be smug, he will be playing in a grand final next week.

5.15 is terrible kicking. If they were 15.5 they'd still be in this game.

Surely on any logical summation, Port should be favourites ?
Or will it be a sham like 2003 when collingwwod were raging favourites ?

You're right
Lions in 2001 first for 57 years
Swans in 2005 first for 72 years
Hopefully Cats in 2007 first for 44 years

On "any logical summation" Port should be favourites?
Yeah, Geelong only finished three games and 40% ahead of Port on the ladder, and beat the Roos in the finals by even more than they did today. And sure, Port won in Round 21 with a goal with 3 seconds left on the clock, while the Cats took until almost half time to hand them their a$$es on a platter at AAMI earlier in the season.
Yeah, can't see how you wouldn't put your house on Port when that's all they have for opposition. Can't lose.
