madman skye must be able to get a colts team together! I played a bit of footy down at carrum downs bombers and its turned into a massive rabble! A couple of seasons ago carrum downs had the U/15s and 16s fold which would of hindered the development of skye.. hopefully use can gather a team and tak eon the tigers!
having been brought up in the carrum downs area i reckon syke could easily field a colts team but you'd have to poach some of the tigers off cuts
just look at the juniors down there ecspecially the ruckmen in the u/13's he'll be a champ one day lol

im guessing your the under 13 ruckman haha! not many players you can poach off seaford considering everyones getting a game. I do reckon Skye can make a colts team very easily! madman why cant skye get the numbers to play colts?

We could get the numbers I have no doubt about that, it aint just seaford but the pines, langy etc I'm sure there are plenty of kids wanting more oppurtunity's
But its a bit hard to gauge how serious the sfl are about an unders comp!!
As i said earlier, money doesnt grow on trees, Id like to see some more effort from them to help clubs get up and going, maybe wavering some fees or something like that??
But to tell ya the truth I'm not exactly clued in to where exactly we are at, i'll talk to the prez and report back.

the caulfield bears entered a team in the ammo's u19's comp this year in a partnership with prahran. i think the team was about half and half and most of the players will be eligable next year. i think they're trying to get an u18's team up the year after next but i'm not sure.
alot of the guys in that area play until they get to u/16s and then lose abit of interest as there is a decent skill and physical difference and also most of them start having kids in carrum downs at that age lol;) skye has a good a very good junior club.
south yarra has a close connection with richmond junior football club with a decent influx of players for there last yr and are hoping for more this year as they dont have a senior side.
Madman if your wondering why i know abit about cdjfc my brother plays there.

Anymore development in this area for 2008? Which clubs do have the Colts confirmed and will there be a Southern competition or will they be running around again under the MPNFL league?
Are clubs actually working hard to develop this area....I think some aren't though a club like Highett it may actually save them.

Only 3 Colts teams look like getting up and running with Chelt, Hampton, Murrumbeena all confirmed. This is a disgraceful effort, especially from the 9 other Div. 1 clubs that don't have a team, or haven't made any effort at all. Are clubs happy to just pay a fine and not have to go to the effort?? Or are clubs just happy to continue to buy players in with no regard for promoting junior talent?? How can a club like St Pauls, with all the juniors they have, not be able to field a team, or even a composite club with another side?? Any thoughts fellas??

It could just be what the league has come too or it's just put in the too hard basket by the clubs without a colts team.
It does take a lot of time and effort to get a team going from scratch and these teams either have a short term outlook or the perception will be that they dont care about there future.
Murrumbeena are gonna win the flag

Heard on the week end that at a meeting last week of all clubs that 12 clubs look certainties for 09' , The push from League combined with big effort from clubs is working, already 7 teams in 08' with 3 a little overage to bolster the comp. This will be the savior for clubs that come on board I reckon. Go dogs Colts in 09'

Glad to hear the Colts comp alive and kicking for 2009! With 7 teams in it this year and the induction of a few new teams we should have a reasonable comp for next year. Of this year's teams will all seem likely to do it again next year? Doveton Eagles? Cheltenham x 2 teams or back to 1?
What are the likely NEW teams for 2009? My thoughts would be:
1) Highett 2) St Kilda City 3) St Pauls 4)Skye
5) Maybe a combined Sandown / Lyndale / Dandenong team??
Any other potential teams? Clayton maybe?

From SOMEONE who was actually there, The all in started when Mt. Waverly players decided its ok to run in and start fighting after a late marking spoil from 1 of our players. Granted it was too high, but we all cop them in the game. Unfortunatly this went to hospital and seriously injured his neck, But surely by the state of the unplayable ground. The other player who went to hospital, was in a scuffle with 1 of our players and no one around, hurting his shoulder when he wrestled our player to the ground. He called for a stretcher for a bad shoulder???? This was when the umpire was gonna call the game off. Once again the state of the ground, way too hard and should be unplayable. We also had a player injuring himself due to the shocking state of the dirt, I mean ground.
Umpire Johnny... worst umpire in the league and has a confessed dislike to Doveton, was all too quick to wanting to call game off, which I think the seniors suffered with his umpiring bias against us.

The incident you speak off was as stated a late spoil as your player was taking an overhead mark that was deemed exactly that and a free kick awarded>
Considering that there was a Senior umpire who was officiating in the colts game that saw the incident and no report was made, the same senior umpire that officiated in the Senior game that day also.
I can understand the emotion in which all at your club are feeling and we wish the player all the best, but don't go making the incident into anything more than as stated.

From someone who was within 20mts or so of the incident, if you call coat- hanging a guy while his feet are off the ground an incident :thumbsd: i feel we all need to take a lot more care when applying a physical approch to a contest.
Yes their was spite in the game and yes the umpire may have added to the spite.
The talk of him calling the game off came at half time as the game was already starting to heat up with a few spot fires around the ground due to frustration from both teams.
I feel the reason for the umpires comments were that he had to put up with a constent verbal barrage(trying to umpire the game themself) from 2 to 3 Eagles players and also their willingness to .. lets say be over physical at the contest.
I'm sorry if i have gone on a bit but it was sickening to see a young man laying on the ground saying he had a weird feeling at the base of his neck, for what i call a stupid act..
Guys lets enjoy a good hard game of footy. But lets do our best to avoid this sort of thing happening again..

Wasn't at the match so not necessarily saying this in reference to that particular incident, but I get sick of the blokes that give it out all day long (unfairly that is) and then when they get cleaned up with a fair shepard or bump, they arc up or have a whinge, as if they are on the wrong end of the stick. See it almost every week, friggin whinges. Don't mind if they go hard, perfectly fine, but don't cry about it when it comes back (fairly that is).

Actually he tried getting up to walk off the ground.. but both Mt Waverley AND Doveton trainers told him to stay still and wait for the stretcher.. They didn't want him to move his shoulder in case it was broken..
Also, the scuffle between the Mt Waverley & Doveton player occurred because the Mt Waverley Player told the Doverton player "to stop his bitching" and the Doveton player started throwing punches.
The reason the Doveton player was complaining in the first place, was because he was whinging that he should of been paid the mark even though he got a free kick anyway for a high tackle??

Blac, there are plenty of dirty incidents that occur during a footy game that do not result in a report, that probably should. I know this occured during a marking contest (correct me if I'm worng as I wasn't there), but the way umpires are at the moment, they could have been looking in the other direction!

Scratcha, I have been watching and reading your posts on this subject and have come to the conclusion that you are a f#####g crack dealer my friend!
Either you are the perpetraitor of this heinous act on young Ellaway (which would not surprise based on your ridiculous comments on this thread) or you are representative of the window lickers that play for your club...always the victim...the whole worlds against you....nothing happenned to Ellaway and you were wronged to have a free kick awarded against you... For you and or your club to deny responsibility for what happenned to James or worse again blame the umpires, well really it's just beyond belief!!!!!
I, like many, not only on this forum, but in the Southern Footy League are sick in the guts for what happenned to James and you and your club should be ashamed. That type of thing should never happen in any sporting arena and you should do your very best to go away and never come back.
God forbid that something like this would ever happen to you or one of the rock apes in your club, there would be hell to pay....but then again it would never happen to a Doveton Eagle, because no body plays footy quite the way you rocket scientists do!!!!!!
Get off this forum and out of the league. It certainly would be a better place without you all.

I for one would like to congratulate you House on your progression to be able to read what an extraordinary feat !
As for the incident in question, tell us what happened House?
That’s right you ignorant fool you are unable to tell us, as you were not there!
I for one can assure you that several people from Doveton Eagles, enquired as to his injury and well being both straight after the incident and up until last week.
As for Scratcha and his comments he is doing what any other player from a club would do and defend the club as to the incident and false innuendo as to what had occurred.
Based on your opinion it doesn't matter what occurred that resulted in the injury a player or a club should be held responsible.
If that’s the case lets make Football a non contact sport.
As for your derogative comments as to the people that play at this club, short memory House as I am sure that we have at least 2-3 current players that also played and coached at your club that came from Doveton.
Maybe it’s you House that should be gone !!!!

Based on your opinion irrespective of what has occurred an injury has happened and a player or club should be held responsible.

I rest my case you screaming twit!!
Surely, defending the club after something like this is about as spectacularly stupid as a rational thinking adult human could be....
As I said, what if the shoe was on the other foot......because keep this up and it will be buddy. Everyones sick of this crap and it will catch up with The Eagles sooner or later

Once again please explain to us all what happened ?
If you are wanting to comment at least have some idea as to what it is that you are commenting on.
Otherwise I suggest that you keep your ill informed comments for your club social functions were someone might just give a shit!

Will it still be everyone else's fault when you get booted out of the competition?
Ask anyone on this forum, (other than the good folk of Doveton) and they will tell you that your club's reputation is one of a bunch of thugs and boofheads. (anyone feel free to chime in and support here)
Stop pointing the bone at everyone else.... a serious injury has finally occured as a result of the agricultural, old fashioned, brutal and illegal way you legends play footy. Skill is a term that is clearly unfamiliar to the ethos within your club.
Why don't you keep your ill informed and ignorant comments off this forum because everyone else actually gives a sh1t!!!!
Especially the parents, teammates and friends (of which I am one) of James Ellaway. He is unlikely to be able to play footy or possibly any other sport again thanks to the thuggery of the good old Dovvey Eagles, which is a shame because he was a much better player than any of the tree swinging, banana eating, hairy backed caravan dwellers who don the Brown & Yellow each week. (for now anyway)

I see you are still yet to find out what happened, for someone that knows James and is so concerned why don't you give him a call and ask him?
No prizes for speaking shit Housey !!:D:D

Number one, I know, as you do what happenned, and as a friend of the family as if I haven't spoken to the boy many times......Just stop it you tool you're making it worse for your club. I note also that you've taken over the role of spokesman for the club as Scratcha has pood his pants as having been identified as the perpetraitor
By the way, Housey aint the House you think he is.....
Now perhaps you'd better get stop this ridiculous banter before the grown ups in your caravan get angry with you for hogging the computer.
I'm sure we'll all see the photos of you Doveton victims picketing outside the League headquarters on tuesday night, protesting at the injustice...

Let's talk on Thursday morning after the tribunal has decided what happenned and the league has acted on the club....
It's the 2000's boys the old way is history...you can't maim people and get away with any more!
What happenned to James Ellaway is a disgrace and the ass bandits responsible have brought shame to their club. (not that they needed it as they are reknowned as mongrelsthroughout the league anyway)
Then finally these butt plugs will shut up and go away.
By the way, James forgives you, but no one else does!!!!! Pigs:thumbsd:
