I know that it is too ealry to think that there may be some opposition for the upcoming Ashes series this summer but after Englands innings and 111 run defeat of Sri Lanka with Murilitharin in the side it must be asked have they improved or was this a one off. England dominated from day one and should why Murilitharin takes so many wickets - 64 of 155 overs 5/160 not great figures but shows that they have no quicks.

England doinated from the first season when they bollowed out Sri Lanka for 162 on Day 1 to then go and post over 500 themselves with good performances from most batsmen and then return to bowl out Sri again for only 250 odd. lets hope this is the start of the relieval of English cricket rather than another false dawn.

It was a good performance from England in the 2nd test, no doubt about that but after their performance in the first innings of the first test, you'd hope they'd come out and bat much better!! Having said that, you're spot on about the quality of Sri Lanka's attack... after Mutiah Muralitharan and to a lesser extent Vass, it's very ordinary to say the least!!

Cheers!!

how do you explain their impressive test record then?
my own feeling is that they are a good side that is currently underperforming
