Should Geelong look to play one of it's home games interstate next year or not??

I would certainly be looking very closely into this if I was Geelong, for a number of reasons. Firstly, just think how much money we'd make if for example we played a 'home' game at Football Park or Subiacco and got 30,000 Crows or Eagles supporters to go to the game... it would be very lucrative for Geelong Football Club and well worthwhile.

The other thing that would do is give Geelong a chance to offer their interstate members/supporters a chance to see the team play live which would add value to their membership and make them feel more a part of the club, and hopefully this will mean more of our interstate supporters become members.

They could then offer the Melbourne-based supporters a chance to go to one of our 'away' matches in Melbourne on their membership ticket, to make up for the home game being played interstate.

The other positive that I can see is that it gives Geelong more experience travelling and playing interstate which can only benefit our players in the long term. We would be able to become better prepared for playing interstate which could be very useful in finals and other games during the year.

What does everyone else think???

Just don't make it in Adelaide, we never win there...

But if we were say playing Sydney in Adelaide...then it would be ok i guess....

We'd be pleased to host a home game of Geelong every year. :)In fact if every AFL club could do the same we would play 22 games at Subi ;)

If it's worth money and will benifit the club i'm all for it, but i'd rather just play at the SCG we seem to go ok their, and then again i might just reserve my thought until after tonights game.

The SCG would be a good place to play as well, providing Sydney are doing well, otherwise their fans wont go to an "away" match in Sydney, and we wont make the necessary dollars to make it worthwhile.
