Dee Dee Ramone has been found dead at his home by his wife at the age of 49. He joins Joey Ramone in punk rock heaven after he passed away last year of cancer.

RIP Dee Dee, you were on of punks pioneers. :(

I'm a bit shocked -one of my true rock heroes: a really funny guy whose minimalist bass playing made me think "yeah I can do that". He did live a very hard life (his song 53rd and 3rd detailed his days as a male prostitute) and his life long drug addiction and bouts with mental illness would not have helped.

Dee Dee was a great song writer and a true rock n roll legend. RIP Dee Dee-rock n roll will never be the same without you:(

Very sad news indeed. He (and the Ramones) were one of my first inspirations to start playing bass.
The first song I ever learnt was 'Blitzkrieg Bop'.

A tragic loss.:(

I hope he and Joey are up there sniffing glue, jamming and having a laugh about old times.
