Just want to get opinions on a Night Comp for pre-season 2008 involving the best teams from WRL, MPNFL, EDL, VAFA and SFL. Winner takes all $15,000 etc....What are your thoughts?

sounds good but you already have the keilor night series that attracts those soft of teams, where would this pre season cup be played at and when

Top 2 teams from each league would be good, think it would be great but logistic don't know how it would work. The prize money would be a great incentitive with like a champions league trophy!

i dont knopw how this could work really as if its a pre season cup. no teams gunna be trying to put forward there best team. the cup will lose its prestige. but in saying that the prize money may provide an incentive to play ure best. and mayb the pride

You could say this for any pre-season competition. Im sure that clubs would find a little more enthusiasm if there was a large pot of cabbage at the end of it. This could be done at the end of the season but getting a ground may be difficult given that cricket starts straight away.

How about a knock out comp at the end of the season made up of all of the Grand Finalists from the big comps, eg, EDFL D1, WRFL D1, VAFA A Grade, DVFL, EFL, Ballarat, Bendigo, Ovens & Murray, etc.
Could be run much like the Champions League in Soccer. Might be something for Football Victoria to look into, would have to offer big prize money though and could use big grounds like Optus Oval etc.
Might be a big crowd puller!:)
