Not often the taller guys do well in the vertical leap. Big frame to lift.

Usually taller mids have the springs.:thumbsu:

Hampson is a freak for his height.
In the Roos game at his first centre bounce I thought he was going o jump straight over McIntosh........and when he turned his kick over, he all but ran the guy down who was at full tilt.............freak for his size.

We are getting some VERY athletic ruckman in the club.......I just hope they can learn the finer skills of rucking and we will be set for a long time.:thumbsu:

I think he might've been 12th for the beep, though not certain.

The freak in those results is Joel Smouha. He is (unless I've got him confused with someone else) 196cm, and won the 3km timetrial, came second in the beep test, and even rated top ten in the sprints.

the question is can he find the footy??

i would prefer a less fit player that can find the footy easily as fitness is something the clubs can work on!!

I didn't say "draft him", I just suggested that is a helluva fit, big man!

Smouha has a lot of parallels to Hampson, raw, new to the game, only problem is he is about 5-6cm shorter.

gday fellas

im gonna go out on a limb here and say that david zaharakis could (and imo should) be picked up with one of our lower picks (>40). the kid has huge potential; his speed is phenomenal and finds the ball quite easily with his good disposal skills. I have seen him play quite a few games in the Marcellin 1sts, where he simply dominated, as a 17 year old!! He's still in year 11!

although carlton may already have found enough depth in it's midfield, this kid is worth a punt, and could quite easily slip into a forward pocket as a small forward, or on the HFF. he ran 2.94 secs over 20m, so by no means is he slow. He is probably faster than Betts, who I think is too one-dimensional, and will struggle for a game when we get up and going.

Kreuzer didn't do too well there, could it stunt his possible pick 1 status?

No, i don't think so. There aren't many stand out this year to really challenge him for it. Pretty much just cotchin but if we get Judd, no much point getting him over Kruezer. He has shown he has the tank to play ruck or even midfield though

3.11 isn't too bad for a ruckman. Don't know if he is still carrying a slight leg injury or not, but he wasn't 100% during the TAC finals. Don't think it will hurt hs chances.
